Why pay over $100 or even $70 for a simple shutter release? If you need distance from your camera, wireless capabilities, or still be able to set functions on the camera from a distance, then get a more expensive remote; it will be worth it. But if you are looking for a simple corded shutter release, save your money and get this one. Sure, it doesn't feel as sturdy as the more expensive ones; but how sturdy does a simple button have to be to make a shutter release? This one is just as good quality as the Nikon simple shutter release, but after using it several times I think it is probably better than Nikon's (I'm not a gentle person when it comes to remotes). It has worked perfect on my D300 in both my studio and travels, and fits comfortably in my hand. I use it for night shots (lots of night shots) and product studio long exposures. As an example, I used this remote to make most of the photos used on CompassRoseGeocoin.com. I could not have any camera shake when taking those photos.
Update: I ended up losing the first one of these I purchased after using it for several hundred photos (It was much sturdier than I thought). I wasn't too upset since the cost was so low, but I would have been livid if I were to lose one of those more expensive remotes. After finding out of the loss, I did more research to see if there are any new options for remotes; but this remote still seems to be the best value on the market today. Therefore I was happy to buy a second one.

Solid quality with a small price compared to NIKON MC-30. It is handy for reducing camera shake on super telephoto shots, macro-photography, and bulb exposures. Pressing the shutter button halfway enables auto-focusing; pressing the shutter button all the way down releases the shutter. Lock the button for long exposures or continuous shooting. Fully compatible to: Nikon D700, D300, D300S, D200, D3, D2H, D2Hs, D2x, D1, D1H, D1x, F100, F6, F5, F90X and F90

This item comes with the camera body but we ordered a spare just in case the original got lost or scratched. It snugly covers the delicate LCD screen and doesn't interfere with your ability to view the LCD screen when you're previewing for picture imperfections. Nice accessory!

Made to NOT fall off (unlike some others) so engineered to fit tight - VERY tight.
This makes it a little hard to install & remove so follow the instructions and
it's not too bad.
Works great, no viewfinder Vignetteing and the eyecup blocks out
all side light. Best of all the eyecup rotates for left or right eyes and portrait or
landscape shots! Well made.

Nikon DK 19 - Eyecup - rubber Review

Nikon DK 19 - Eyecup - rubber
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The DK-19 very easily mounts onto the D3 or D700 (and, for that matter, also on the D2 series as well as the F6 and probably most other Nikon cameras with a round eyepiece) without the need of any adapters or anything. All you need is the DK-19 -- and you need to read (and follow) the instructions that come with it -- and you are all set.
I have no idea what kind of problems the other reviewer had -- it almost seems as if Carlos had written about attaching the DK-3 to a D200 (or some other camera with rectangular viewfinder). For the DK-3 to fit on the D200 one indeed needs the DK-22 adapter and a couple more pieces. Yet, as I said, this is not the case for the DK-19, at least not when you attach it to a D3 or D700.
The DK-19 eyepiece forms a seal between eye and viewfinder and thus keeps out stray light that may otherwise distract the photographer (or maybe even the light meter). This accessory is nothing super-fancy, but it does what it is supposed to very well. It is cheap enough to just buy it to try it -- and I'll bet once you have tried it you'll love it.

This is a serious battery and the first reviewer seems confused when he states that this battery both does and does not work with the MB-10 (???)
This is the original equipment battery for the new Nikon D3 which reviewer Bjorn Rorslett claims to have gotten 5198 D3 images from a single charge -- in Norway, in the winter!
This is a 5 star battery. D3 owners may also wish to purchase the $20 BL-4 spare battery compartment door to make swapping batteries easy and fast.
Although I have yet to actually NEED my spare, I certainly wouldn't go out on a job without one.

I'm a wedding photographer who shoots in dark conditions often. This lens performs great in these conditions. I use this lens on a D3 body and the AF is good. It doesn't seem to be as fast at my zooms (24-70 2.8 or 70-200 2.8) but it's still pretty accurate when focusing in low light. The image quality is AMAZING. Certainly an upgrade from the older 35 f/2 version . Images has more contrast & are sharper. I also own the 24 1.4 G and I would say that the IQ on the 35 is about the same. Over all, I'm very impressed and satisfied with this 35. [...]

Hoodman H-CAPD3 Nikon D3 Hood Cap Review

Hoodman H-CAPD3 Nikon D3 Hood Cap

I have been using a D3 for almost a year and noticed a few very fine scratches on the tempered glass LCD monitor viewscreen. Recently I bought one of these Hoodman covers for my D3. After using it for about a month I have one long fine scratch on it. If that saved the tempered glass from such a fate, it was well worth the expenditure. One tip: I tried removing the cover and could not do so (I was concerned that it might break if I forced it further). I got a fine, flat screwdriver and, with a slight twist, was easily able to remove the cover by doing so.

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens Review

Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8G ED AF-S Nikkor Wide Angle Zoom Lens

Nikon's new 14-24 lens is just phenomenal. The clarity is that of a prime lens. In fact, this super-wide angle zoom lens effectively replaces the equivalent prime lenses within most of its focal length (except perhaps the 24mm range); it's like owning a bag full of prime lenses that have been combined to make one superlative zoom lens.
Yes, it's that good. If you check around the web, you will see the pros falling over themselves for this lens after they test it. It's built like a tank and is precise as a Swiss watch.
Highly recommended.

Nikon D3X 24.5MP FX CMOS Digital SLR with 3.0-Inch LCD (Body Only) Review

Nikon D3X 24.5MP FX CMOS Digital SLR with 3.0-Inch LCD (Body Only)
Average Reviews:

Owned a D3 for one and a half years and traded in for the D3x after trying out the new model for a day. My review is not about price - for the record I think Nikon stretched the barrier on the price point for this which I am not happy about - but as far as performance goes I am happy. The D3x results is are perceptibly superior for landscape and macro photography - which is what I typically shoot - even on just A3+ prints.... so I can imagine that the results would be that much better for larger sizes. Just as many of you, I have also read arguments on the net re the megapixel myth ad nauseam and was half convinced about it but nothing speaks as clearly as prints (and I'm comparing studio shots of the same subject taken with the two different cameras).
Have not tried the D3x for sports photography yet but I suspect that unless you are shooting either motor-sports or winter sports, the moderately slower 5fps in large FX mode compared with the 7fps for the D3 is not going to be an issue.
I also spent a day with the Sony Alpha-900 given that is the only other player in a similar mega-pixel category. The output was all right but overall just not in the same league as the D3x in terms of handling, build quality etc etc (I'm probably biased as I am very familiar with Nikon controls - just found the Sony too 'fiddly' and 'plasticky' and couldn't see myself spending hours with it without getting irritated).
Early days with the camera but so far it feels like one of the best DSLR's I have used especially when the medium format alternatives would involve rendering my large pile of Nikon lenses useless and the replacement cost would be prohibitive. As mentioned earlier the D3x pricing is a different issue altogether and I think that the right price point would have been around $2K lower......will update if and when I discover any shortfalls or glitches.

EXPEED also enables fast processing of massive amounts of data, allowing continuous shooting at up to 5fps. A bright 3-inch super-density 920,000-dot LCD monitor offers precise image review, along with 27x magnification for precise focus confirmation in Live View.
