(More customer reviews)The MB-D11 grip has had many reviews all over this site but I wanted to make sure that anyone that wanted this package knew it was worth it. If your buying the grip, you'll probably need the battery also, and thats what makes this package great. It's priced $10 under buying them separate with the added cleaning tools it only makes the deal sweeter. The battery, and cleaning kit are also genuine Nikon products so you know the quality is on par.
On to the review of the MB-D11 if you haven't already read one:
What does it do? It adds battery life, 1 fps, and portrait shooting functionality. Adds weight and height for bigger lenses as well to help balance out the weight distribution.
Being a Nikon product the match to the D7000 body is superb, and the rubber is actually a little better on the grip, making it even more secure to hold. It has both front and back command dials for setting shutter and aperture speed as well as an AE/AF lock button that is fully programmable to your liking. When attached to the D7000 the display shows the battery life of both the in camera battery and the grip battery, so you always know which is in need of recharging. It also comes with a 6 AA battery tray to easily switch the power should the batteries die out (not unlikely unless your going all day without stopping).
I only have one real gripe about the grip. The portrait shutter release is not as easy to use as the D7000's. The half press is a bit harder to find and I have accidentally released from to much pressure multiple times. It requires more pressure to get it down so until you get used to it it will annoy you that it isn't as smooth as the cameras.
Any questions please ask, but overall this product is superb and this combined package is an awesome deal that is worth getting asap.
