It's a bit hard to screw in, especially in cold weather, but I'm not able to tell if that's due to the make of the ring, or simply the type of threads that it has to conform to.

(More customer reviews)FYI. Package says 77-72 Reduzierring (Reducing) and not "step-up". The confusion is that it reduces a 77mm filter to fit on a 72mm lens end. So the term 72mm - 77mm step-up ring is confusing as you will not see those words on the package.
Caused me to return something that I could have kept. I will note that a non-reply by the seller edged me to return. A simple reply would have cleared things up.

(More customer reviews)I've been doing photography for years as a hobby - I've got all the fancy stuff and filters for everything. Problem is - filters are EXPENSIVE - especially the good ones, so I looked into these.
I've heard about step-up rings before but avoided them because they were always kind of pricey - you need one for each size lens. Fortunately this set packs everything from 49 - 77mm, so you can make it just the size you need it (stacking the rings together) and at such a cheap price. Build quality is good, but stacked together it does become kind of bulky (so if space is at a minimum in your bag, these might be a bit much. Fortunately you can always just bring whatever sizes you need - it'll still be less than if you were to bring filters for each lens!
If you buy these, buy the largest size filter you need - usually 77mm - then just use the step up rings to make it the size you need it. Using this method I was able to bring just 1 polarizer and use it on a 18-55 lens, a 70-200, and a variety of primes (30, 50, 85), all of which use different filter sizes. Wish I had bought this earlier!

(More customer reviews)This item works flawless, rigid construction, threads easily into my lenses etc... However the technique to use a reversing ring will cause you much hassle. Trying to use your hands while taking pictures that will be that highly magnified ( two 50mm lenses ) is almost impossible. Setting up a tripod to take your shots well that's kind of annoying but you get results. Trying to get an image with a use able field of view have fun with that. Sure you can get really cool images with this but it will take a lot of work and it's not the rings problem it's the technique. Also be aware you might want to support your lenses hanging a whole lens off the front of another lens that has a plastic focus ring the reversing ring is the strongest part of that whole connection. I took a pictures of "dried flowers" and you could see micro structures but all but 10% of the image was horribly out of focus because of the severely shallow depth of field when using backwards lenses. A better option might be the reversing mount so you can put a single lens onto the body its basically a body cap for your camera with a hole cut in it glued to a filter holder for your lens so you can put a single lens directly onto the body in reverse. You don't get quite the magnification but it's amazingly easier to use.
