I have a Nikon D90 with the 18-200 mm lens and was looking for a small bag to protect and carry it plus a few small items, but at the same time make the camera easy to access quickly. I also wanted something that would allow me to do other things, e.g. climb ladders at Mesa Verde, hold/walk dogs at dog shows, or just carry/roll luggage. After looking at numerous other solutions, the Think Tank D20 Digital Holster with this chest harness was my choice.
This rig allows me carry the camera in a protected, but easily accessible manner even with the lens shade in place. When I'm actively shooting, I put the camera's strap over my neck (accidents happen) and leave the bag closed, but with the top unzipped. This approach also takes the load off my neck. I can also do other things with the bag plus camera in place without it falling off or otherwise getting in the way.
I do not yet have other lenses or an external flash, but the expansion plan is to carry those on a belt. In that case the D20 with harness should be an aid in changing lenses, etc.
It is quite easy to put the bag with harness on and take it off. Construction quality is excellent.
I would recommend this harness and a Digital Holster bag to anyone with similar needs though it may not be a good solution for some women.

OP/TECH USA 5301412 Bino/Cam Harness-Webbing Review

Bought this harness for use with a Nikon D300 which is a much heavier camera than my last and do not regret it. I have a neck injury which makes it hard to hang or tie anything around now, so this harness is a Godsend. It's very adjustable and easy to use, but takes a little getting used to slipping on after being used to a neck strap and takes a little longer to do. Still, if you need this, it's worth doing and a huge convenience in the end. I don't like my camera swinging around and knocking expensive lenses on things, so being able to keep an eye on my equipment is wonderful.
There are a couple of drawbacks I've noticed however. It's hard to use liveview in the LCD monitor because the harness holds the camera too close unless you adjust the straps way out away from your body. Also it seems necessary to adjust the straps way out for general use and reading menus being as I'm far sighted these days. I don't care to wear glasses while taking photos, so for me this is a slight problem. Your results may vary.
Another thing I had issue with is with the easy connect system. You must attach the second section of the clips to the camera where they remain while the harness is not in use. These clips are fairly large albeit sturdy. What I did to circumvent this problem was to buy plastic swivel clips to attach the clips to first, then use swivel clips on the camera eyelet. It would have been nice had the manufacturer considered the possibility that not everyone would love their idea of a quick connect system and provided other options. This would have saved a good deal of time and effort figuring out what to do and where to get what was needed to make this harness work best for my equipment.
Overall I'd recommend this product all the same, but advise the buyer to think about their needs and intended use.

I purchased this harness for use with my Nikon D80 and a Nikkor 18-200 lens. The camera and lens are quite bulky and heavy and I needed a solution for hiking. This elegantly simple harness works beautifully. I can carry the camera all day hiking through the Rockies without neck or back fatigue, without the camera swinging side to side or front to back and yet with it quickly and easily available for use. When I bend down to examine something or simply tie my shoe, the camera doesn't fall into the middle of whatever I'm doing. A friend bought the harness for his Nikon Stabilized binoculars and has reported back that it works beautifully with the binoculars as well. I've been delighted with my purchase.

"Cotton Carrier" Camera System Pro-Pac for All Cameras Review

Cotton Carrier Camera System Pro-Pac for All Cameras

The Cotton Carrier system is without a doubt the VERY best way to carry your camera when engaged in active pursuits. There are several videos available to demonstrate and explain this product and I have found it works exactly as described.
I am usually carrying a Canon 5D, Mark II with a 100-400m, "L" lens and another "L" lens of some sort. The weight of the camera and lens is quite heavy, but this system distributes the weight so effectively that it is no burden at all.
I recently used it hiking/rock climbing in the Lake Tahoe area with WONDERFUL results.
Then, last week I used it while pheasant hunting in MN. It was awesome. I was able to "sling" my shotgun and use the camera without any problem.
The Cotton Carrier is very well made and durable. The system works exactly as advertised. I've now purchased another for Christmas for a friend.
You will NOT be disappointed!

I really liked this product. Purchased to remove the weight of carrying 2 Canon 1D cameras in a bag and it performed well by balancing the load evenly across my shoulders. Very comfortable, easy to adjust to fit, and makes it really easy to take pictures on the fly.

The DUAL HARNESS is a comfortable and versatile way to carry one or two cameras or binoculars. The unique U-shaped neoprene neck pad evenly distributes the weight of your gear while absorbing the shock of your movements. As the DUAL HARNESS uses the 3/8" connectors, your gear remains safely in the upright position at your sides. This keeps the camera stabilized and secured within your view and grasp. By also maintaining the camera in the upright position, no stress is put on your camera, lens or shoe-mount flash units. Your cameras can be quickly and easily brought to the proper shooting position with the self-gliding connectors. Since the DUAL HARNESS incorporates OP/TECH USA\'s 3/8" connectors, your tripod mount is available to use for brackets and other adaptors. These connectors also make it possible to quickly switch to another OP/TECH USA neck strap when desired. The interchangeable design enables you to convert from a dual to a single shoulder sling system, and the removable chest strap gives you that extra measure of security. With your gear safely stowed, you're free to concentrate on taking the perfect photo.

This is a decent, pretty standard bino harness. If you're still using the neck strap, the benefits of the harness are that you don't have a sore neck at the end of the day, your binos don't bounce and swing on your chest as you walk or do other activities, and it slightly stabilizes your grip while viewing. The harness is highly superior to the neck strap!!!
Down sides of this model: The quick-release clasps are actually a little tricky to unclasp. Maybe this is a good thing if you have super-expensive binos, but I find it a little frustrating. Also, the plastic strap-junction pieces aren't designed quite as ergonomically as they could be. There's a big "Nikon" logo on the back that I wish wasn't there. But if you find it for a competitive price, go for it.
Another downside: The bino harness makes you look like you're some tool thinking he's tough because he's wearing a pseudo-gun-holster (ie Gareth Keenan's cell phone holster in "The Office").
