(More customer reviews)Why doesn't every camera come with a strap like this? Actually, my original Canon S80 did, but, sadly, we don't see this style very prevalent amongst today's cameras. In fact, if you do some checking, you might find, as I did, that this is one of the ONLY handstraps for a point and shoot camera that contains the all important slider piece which allows you to tighten the strap onto your wrist so that the strap (and the camera) doesn't slide off your hand at the first moment you aren't paying attention.
Once you use a design like this, you'll scratch your head in incredulity as to why it is not "standard issue" for all wrist straps. The problem with the wrist strap, of course, is that it slides off your hand almost as easily as it slides on, with the potential result being a dropped camera. With the inclusion of the 1 cent slider on the strap, you are able to slide the strap on and then more securely affix the strap to your wrist, making for a better shooting experience and a great deal more measure of security.
Grab one or two of these while they are still available. Why four stars instead of five? Well, because (and I'm being picky here) the strap is not flat (it uses a standard round rope-style format). The flat style is a bit more comfortable over the long term, and hence, the deduction of one star. However, the ability to secure strap to your hand with the slider is a much more important factor. Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this strap for a Sanyo Xacti hand-held audio recorder that is small and slippery. The recorder has a slot and pin which are obviously designed to attach a wrist strap, but Sanyo does not supply one or offer one as an option.
This strap fits the recorder and my wrist. It seems to be more than strong enough, is well made and it's very cheap insurance against dropping the tiny recorder.
It would be fantastic if these were available in a selection of colors, but "basic black" does go with everything, even if it is a little boring.
Exactly what's needed for the Xacti recorder.
(But a red strap would look much better). :-)

(More customer reviews)I decided to buy an Op/Tech Grip Strap because it looks to be a similar design to Nikon's AH-4 but because it's made out of neoprene I thought it might be better for a whole day. I also own Op/Tech's Pro neck strap and that is a great neck strap that I highly recommend.
However, the Op Tech Grip Strap is horrible , it provides no support whatsoever and I felt as if my D700 was going to fall off my hand constantly. So the Grip Strap becomes a wetsuit for the Barbie's! I ended up purchasing the Nikon AH-4 and while it is a bit expensive it is worth it, the strap fits so nicely around my hand and offers better support than the Canon E1's I used to own, though they did a great job of support as well.
If you're looking for a good hand strap for your dSLR, then I would advise against the grip strap from Op/Tech. The Nikon AH-4 or Canon E1 are both much better designs and offer the support necessary.

(More customer reviews)So before I talk about how ridiculous the instructions are that ship with the product, I will say it's a really nice hand grip. Top quality. The main drawback is - once you get it on, it's going to be a total pain to get off to swap out for a neck strap.
So I get the product and i open up the nice packaging and the "instructions" are printed on the inside of the packaging. Only problem is you can't read the damn things. Either they ran out of ink or they hired a cheap printing company, but the top 3 illustrations are next to impossible to read. The bottom 3 are barely better. This isn't the kind of thing you can discard the directions and do it yourself. You'll never get it correct.
So i scanned the instructions, brought them into photoshop and worked on the light and contrast levels. Then I could read them. You'll be amazed how much easier it is when you can see what you're supposed to do.

(More customer reviews)This neoprene wrist strap is comfortably wide, can be cinched to your hand with the included buckle-like device, and is not so long that your camera will dangle far from your wrist when you let go of it.
My only concern is the plastic clip that attaches the neoprene wrist strap to the lanyard portion secured to the camera. It looks sturdy enough, and hasn't given any indication that it's going to come loose, but given how easy it is to get your hand into and out of the wrist strap, it seems like the inclusion of this clip doesn't add enough value to the product to justify the loss of peace of mind.
If you were going to be switching between a neck strap and this wrist strap, the plastic clip would probably make that process quick and easy, but if, like me, you're only interested in securing your camera with a wrist strap, the clip feels unnecessary.

(More customer reviews)Just got this hand strap and not bad for what I paid for. For $10 you can't expect the best part of the cow but at least you get the back end, which is not bad at all.. LOL Over all this is a great strap and works well with the shoulder strap too. I thought I would have to get rid of the shoulder strap or swap it when I need it. No need because they put and extra metal loop at the top so it all looks like 1 piece. The only thing I don't like about this thing is, the instructions. Very few word instructions and maybe 3 pictures to show you how to put it together. Got to tell ya, took me about 1/2 hr to figure it out. I logged back into Amazon to see if there were any info on how to put it together and nothing. But if you look at the pic they have you will figure it out. It was very simple to put together if I started off with the Amazon pic and not the box instructions. I looked around for other straps and they cost a lot lot more. This is for sure a great strap and a great price. Oh, when you screw it in at the bottom of the cam it won't leave you without a hole to put your tripod up. It comes with a metal hole so you won't have to remove the strap to use the tripod. Again, can't say it enough, this is a great strap. Down the road if it breaks in less than a year then I'll rewrite this. Thanks for reading this review..

(More customer reviews)This device is an absolute must-have for any photographer. It allows your hand to completely relax while your hand is at your side, yet still grip the camera with no stress. I use it on my Canon 40D with a large L series lens and it's comfortable enough to carry the camera without a shoulder strap for several hours without tiring. I would never use a professional camera without one of these wrist straps. It's very secure and prevents accidentally dropping the camera while at the same time easing the amount of force necessary to hold or steady the camera.
The strap attaches to the right shoulder strap loop on your camera, and has an attachment that screws into the tripod mount on the underside of the camera. Even with the wrist strap connected, there is an additional loop provided so that you can also attach a shoulder strap if desired, though I've never used this feature.
Unlike Canon's wrist strap, this unit can be used without the battery pack. A friend recently dropped her camera and did severe damage to it as she wasn't using one of these wrist straps. It's a very inexpensive bit of comfort and insurance that you'll come to love.
