(More customer reviews)Extended warranties are a rip off - all smart consumers know this fact. The one exception that I make is with any electronic device I buy on eBay; especially used electronics. I bought a waterproof digital camera (I was familiar with brand and model of camera I purchased) on eBay, but because it was used, I purchased a Squaretrade warranty for a few dollars (hint, search for coupon codes and once you're a customer, occassionally Squaretrade will e-mail you a 30% or 40% coupon code good for a day). New items are covered for a total of three years (manufacturer usually covers the first year) and Used items are covered for one year, however, Squaretrade usually allows for a second year of coverage on Used items for a reduced rate - I purchased the three year warranty for my new waterproof camera purchased on eBay. Two-and-a-half years later, the waterproof camera got soaked at a waterslide park. I submitted my claim (answered a few questions online), received a shipping label from Squaretrade, shipped the inoperative camera to Squaretrade for inspection, and within a week, my claim was approved and the full amount of my eBay purchase price was returned to my PayPal account. Easy peasy! Now I'm applying the claim amount on an upgraded waterproof digital camera a two-and-a-half years later! I WILL get another Squaretrade warrany - you NEED to DO THIS too!

Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) guards you against life's little mishaps, whether you drop your cell phone on the street or splash coffee on your laptop.
