Get your scissors, cut, design and think creativity, With this set of acetate filters, you can create any shape in any color you like and match your filters precisely to your subject and your imagination. Dream and create two, three or four colors in the same image, arranged as you like
Helpful hints : Handle the cut out fitters carefully and place them in the gelatin Holder (194), one of which is supplied with the Cokin Creative set. You may need several Modular Hoods (255) to protect the filters against the weather : check that the hoods do not vignette the image. These filters do not offer the optical quality of classical filters and cannot replace them for all applications.

Cokin filters were invented by professional photographer Jean Coquin. By using square filters like Cokin's, which fit into a holder and are attached to a lens via an adapter ring, the photographer has a number of immediate advantages. There is no need to duplicate filters to fit different size lenses, up to three filters can be used at once to create unique effects, and the photographer has control over the positioning of the effect on the photograph.

I love it. I just bought the Nikon D5000 and wanted to adapt my old filters from my old Minolta lens to the new lens. I went to several local camera stores and electronic stores in the area and was not successful. I'm glad that I was able to purchase it online and adapt all my filters to use w/ my new DSLR camera, it saved me from purchasing new filters.

Just what was expected. Would recommend the P series even if you don't need them yet as you may get a larger lens in the future.

ND Gradual Filters: Often it is necessary or desirable to balance the light intensity in one part of a scene with another. This is especially true in situations where you don't have total light control, as in bright contrast landscapes. Exposing for the foreground will produce a washed-out, over-exposed sky while exposing for the sky will leave the foreground dark and under-exposed. Cokin graduated gray ND filters are part clear, part neutral density. They allow the transition to be blended into the scene, often imperceptibly. A ND.6-to-clear, with a two stop differential, will generally compensate the average bright sky-to-foreground situation and is also the most popular density of the series. 121L - 2X Light starts with the same neutral density as 120, but feathers the grey almost from the color edge and more gently graduates to clear. One stop of compensation. 121M - 4X Medium is the same gentle graduation as 121L but with twice in density. Requires 2 stops of compensation. 121S - 8X Soft is twice the density of 121M and the graduation extends to 3/4 of the filter. Requires 3 stops.

Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4 AT-X Pro DX Lens for Canon Digital SLR Review

I lowered my pride and bought a third party lens. I have been horribly dissapointed with third party lenses in the past, but this lens is increadible! its very sharp and has less distortion than my 18-70mm nikkor AF-S DX lens! this lens has permanantly replaced the kit lens on my D70. I have been using this lens for about a month now and I the only complaint i have is minimal ghosting in direct sunlight. this is easily cured with a well placed hand. I can block all ghosting without getting my hand in the picture even at 12mm. i dont use the lens hood, so I dont know how effective it is. this lens is large and it will cause horrible shadows with the built in flash or an attached speedlight. it will also cause shadows while in commander mode with a wireless set up. this is not a concern for me. I simply hold my speedligh in front of my built in flash in commander mode when ever I need a flash. I have used a nomal thickness UV filter with this lens (hoya 77mm) and i could see no distortion at all at any settings. I am a diehard nikkor fanantic, however, I am very impressed with this lens. I would definently recommmend this lens over the poorly built $1000 nikkor version.

Cokin H250A P-Series ND Grad Kit Review

I really like these ND filters. Unlike a screw-on filter these can be adjusted up or down depending on where the brightest part of your scene is going to be. If you have the multi-holder, you can also stack them to increase the effect.
Using ND filters takes less time and effort than stacking exposures in Photoshop... the only downside is that ND filters like these have a stright transition, so if you have a very jagged skyline then hit can artifically darken some peaks in an image.
