The T-ring has threads on one end that screw into your T-adaptor (or even directly to some telescopes) and a bayonet mount for your camera on the other end. This allows a solid connection for your camera to the telescope.

Universal camera adapters allow attachment of a camera body to reflector or refractor telescopes for both prime-focus and eyepiece-projection photography. The adapter slides into the eyepiece holder as an eyepiece normally would. The adapters are composed of two detachable parts: a prime-focus adapter (or "T-adapter") for prime-focus photography, and an extension tube for eyepiece-projection photography. A setscrew in the extension tube holds the eyepiece in place. The adapters are compatible with 1.25" focusers. Each is precision made of black-anodized aluminum and is threaded for filters. A T-ring, sold separately, is required to couple your specific camera body to the universal adapter.

(More customer reviews)This Aluminum Case is a high quality product especially for the price. It looks great and the fit is perfect. Closure and locks etc all aligned correctly. The foam system is great and is easy to fit to any equipment. The padded dividers are good also but I just use the foam. I was able to easily make custom areas to hold one 35mm slr camera with 28 to 200 lens, one Pentax K10D digital slr with the kit lens and a digital camcorder plus extra batteries for each. Perfect size for my needs and the case sure does a good job of protection. Looks really sharp too.

(More customer reviews)There are many positive features about this lens and there are a few negative this too. I have used this lens on Canon and Nikon cameras, it can be adapted to any mount with the correct t-adapter.
-This lens produces very sharp pictures only if you have your camera on a tripod. With all lenses, the more zoom, the less area of view. Do not think you will be holding this lens in your hands shooting.
-This lens needs light. It works great outdoors. I have taken many shots of birds, houses, trees, ect)
Overall, it is the only lens under $600 that can zoom as far as it can. You just need to understand want it can and cannot do. I am happy with it.

Celestron 93635-A T-Adapter for NexStar 4GT Review

(More customer reviews)The Celestron 93635-A T-Adapter connects the rear cell of a NexStar 4 or C90 scope to a T-ring (sold seperately) which is designed to fit your specific camera. There isn't much to the adapter -- just a threaded metal tube with a metal screw-on ring on one end. Note that you will need to use your camera in fully manual mode though the camera's internal light meter will probably function normally allowing you to set the shutter speed for a proper exposure during daylight hours.
While the T-Adapter does function as advertised, it suffers from a design flaw -- the connecting tube is too narrow causing severe vignetting (i.e., the corners of phtots are cut off and appear very dark or black) at least for a 35mm full frame camera mounted to a C90. I have not tried it with a C-sized digital camera yet. Due to the severity of vignetting, you might want to consider an alternative model of T-Adapter or, better yet, a Tele-Extender designed for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes such as the Orion 1.25" Standard Tele-Extender which can be used in place of a T-adapter on the C90, doesn't suffer from these sever vignetting problems and is much more versatile.
Note: A tele-extender is similar to the T-adapter but is designed to optionally allow you to place a telescope eyepiece inside - between the scope and the camera - for even higher magnification. For example, with the T-adapter, a C90 can function as a 1200mm manual camera lens. With a tele-extender, it can do the same or, by adding a 18mm eyepiece, act as a 5000mm or greater lens.

(More customer reviews)T-adapters can turn your telescope into an amazing telephoto lens and this one will work with any that have a 1.25" visual back. This piece has a 1.25" inserting slip connector which replaces the Star Diagonal on your telescope and the title given by Celestron is entirely misleading, it refers to a generic measurement of an inch (actually 1.25"). The faulty description continues in the product description: it WILL NOT FIT .96" visual backed telescopes such as the Celestron C90, or the Nexstar 4GT. In that case you'll need this part Celestron 93635-A T-Adapter for NexStar 4GT Those telescopes have a .96" visual back and the T-adapter has a female ring which screws over the visual back.
In either case you still need a T-Ring to connect to your camera, be careful there too as there are now ones for 58mm digital cameras that are larger than the older 35mm.
Getting Amazon to change these descriptions is difficult so hopefully this review can correct it.

(More customer reviews)I was optimistic about this unit but I'm happy to say that it worked like a charm. Unit went on tight and right. No issues with it falling of or not being able to get the unit on my 50D. I haven't tried to remove it and don't plan on it. I'm 6'2" and like looking down into the camera so I'm leaving the thing mounted. I feel like you can take more creative shots because you can rotate the eyepiece 360 degrees! Me Gusta!
