(More customer reviews)I tested this on my D200 and it works as described. Half a press and it focuses and the full press releases the shutter. The bulb function works well too. Some reviewers noted that it was difficult to line up the 10 pin connector to the camera. Careful inspection of the camera receiver and the shutter release connector and you will notice three slots in the camera receiver that line up with three plastic prongs in the connector. The cord leaving from the connector on the shutter release on the unit I received lines up with the white dot/line on the D200 receiver/connector. Not sure if this is a design feature or not, but it will help me line up the 10 pin connector.
All in all, I feel like this was a good buy for the money if it lasts.

(More customer reviews)I used this remote as soon as I got it just to experiment with it in my nikon D90 a bit and figure it out. Seemed to work fine. Pulled the remote out and put everything away. Later I picked up the camera and noticed that there was a metal plug sticking out of the camera. After looking it over and comparing the plug to another remote that I have that I know works, I noticed that the piece of metal was off this remote's plug. I would not recommend this to anybody. Why would you go out and buy a nice camera just to skimp on the accessories? The camera is fine but remote now has a plug that doesn't work. I'm going to be going back to amazon and try and get my money back.

It plugs into the gps port on the Nikon D90. Press it halfway down, and the autofocus is engaged. Press it all the way down, and it trips the shutter. It's a very dependable shutter cord that I can fully recommend.

You'll get some phenomenal shots of yourself and your family using this Vivatar wireless remote and with out a lot of tedious hassle of set up and headaches from faulty equipment that is unreliable and doesn't work half the time. I ended up tossing out 2 prior purchases of remotes from other "no name" manufacturers due to frustration in consistency.
There are also bonus features on this remote that are a dream come true:
***** Continous shooting mode ***** After you set the focus on it with a light tap you can then press the button and it will fire off 5 shots at 2 second intervals. My Nikon allows for this also, but you have to find it on the menu set it all up and after a few minutes of time you'll get this. With the Vivatar remote it only takes a second to flip the switch to this mode and you are ready to go, simply amazing!
***** 2 second remote timer ***** After you focus yourself or the group in the photo you press the button and then after 2 seconds the remote will then take the picture. The big plus on this feature is that it allows to tuck away the remote in your pocket so that it is not seen in your photos.
Great product overall and a steal of deal for the price.
