(More customer reviews)I just got one of these today and it works great. Just to test the range, I set up my camera in my living room and triggered it 10 times from inside my detached garage about 120' away. It fired 10 for 10. It has a button on the receiver, so it can be used as a wired cable release and it works in bulb mode both wired and wirelessly. It comes with three different ends to fit a variety of Nikon cameras, so there's no need to worry about getting the correct one for your model. There is no channel adjustment, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. I don't know if that will be a problem or not.
I have a Nikon IR remote for my D80, but the range on it stinks and you can only use it from front-left of the camera. If, you're thinking of an IR remote, you should consider this instead.

(More customer reviews)Does everything you could want a basic remote shutter to do. It does all that it says it does and does it well. You can't beat the price. If you just need a basic remote shutter I'd go with this one. At the time of my purchase, it was the lowest price. It doesn't have control of anything but the shutter but it works awesomely to throw in the bottom of the camera bag and go with it.

You'll get some phenomenal shots of yourself and your family using this Vivatar wireless remote and with out a lot of tedious hassle of set up and headaches from faulty equipment that is unreliable and doesn't work half the time. I ended up tossing out 2 prior purchases of remotes from other "no name" manufacturers due to frustration in consistency.
There are also bonus features on this remote that are a dream come true:
***** Continous shooting mode ***** After you set the focus on it with a light tap you can then press the button and it will fire off 5 shots at 2 second intervals. My Nikon allows for this also, but you have to find it on the menu set it all up and after a few minutes of time you'll get this. With the Vivatar remote it only takes a second to flip the switch to this mode and you are ready to go, simply amazing!
***** 2 second remote timer ***** After you focus yourself or the group in the photo you press the button and then after 2 seconds the remote will then take the picture. The big plus on this feature is that it allows to tuck away the remote in your pocket so that it is not seen in your photos.
Great product overall and a steal of deal for the price.
