Photographing solar eclipses and ultra-bright light sources can be extremely dangerous. This filter reduces light values by 9 stops to less than 1/500th of its original intensity and allows safe photography.It can also be used to achieve super slow shutter speeds in daylight to render moving subjects invisible, and will enable you to use slow shutter speeds, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, vehicles, etc.It will also decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background. And this filter allows you to decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) so it can be used outdoors in bright situations. Neutral Density filters have no effect on color balance, appear grey and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. Multi-coating minimizes reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare as well as ghosting.

It came in nice packing but the filter itself has some tiny dirt spots on it that cannot be removed.
It is cheap but I wish I would have spent more on a higher quality filter.

Hoya 52mm RM-72 Infrared Filter Review

(More customer reviews)I use this filter with my Nikon D60 and it does a super job on IR pics. If you are new to IR photography, this is the filter for you! FYI, I shoot it in bright daylight using the same 90 degree rule you would use with a polarizer. Generally, I set the camera on manual, close down the aperture to about F22, set the white balance to auto, set the shutter speed to 30 seconds ( yes, 30 seconds, so you need a tripod ), ISO to 1600, pre-focus with the IR lens off, lock the focus, then take the pic. At 30 seconds, you're going to want a less breezy day, but the long exposure gives you those wispy, eerie, clouds. You're going to get a REALLY red image, but that's ok, you can tweak it in PS or iPhoto or even the viewnx program that comes with the D60. You can manipulate the hues and saturations, contrasts and tints in these programs to get your desired effect. I don't think you really need a more expensive IR filter when this one works just fine..........

(More customer reviews)I have no $100 multicoated filters with which to compare this Sunpak Picturesplus filter, but it seems like quality glass to me. It has front threads so another filter can be attached in front of it. The total thickness is 10mm. However, if you want a UV filter for use with film cameras or as a clear protector for digital cameras, then get the SLIK CF-7078 two-pack for only $2 more. The only thing lacking is a carrying case, but the packaging serves as a protective if bulky case.

Lexerd - Nikon D5000 TrueVue Crystal Clear Digital Camera Screen Protector Review

(More customer reviews)Since I usually get it wrong, I wanted a pre-cut LCD protector I didn't need to cut to the right size. I also needed one that was thin enough to allow the Nikon D5000 LCD to close as if nothing was there (a feat few other protectors achieve).
This does both perfectly.
Nikon made it difficult for aftermarket LCD protectors on two counts: First, anything but the thinnest material will prevent the LCD from rotating and closing in its original position. Second, the LCD panel is ever-so-slightly beveled on the edges, making it nearly impossible for any LCD protector to fit perfectly right up to the edge of the display. Nevertheless, this item is nicely cut for the entire surface of the Nikon display.
If you're very particular like me, you'll notice a 1mm bevel that prevents any protector from adhering perfectly flat to the edges. Nonetheless, this item gets it right by being as perfectly cut as possible. The protector stays in-place and does its job well.
Since there are no instructions, here are a few tricks to get this installed correctly: there's only one protective sheet (some LCD protectors come with two). So, as you pull it away to expose the adhesive side, place that side against your camera's LCD. Start on an edge (not a diagonal) and gradually 'roll' the item onto the display using a credit card. Continue flattening it against the LCD and pushing out air bubbles along the way. If you find fingerprints, fuzz or a piece of hair adhere to the adhesive side as you're applying it, use a bit of transparent tape to pull it off (not your fingers!) and continue. When finished, give it some strong strokes with a credit card to push out remaining bubbles and make it firm.

The only complaint that I had was it was a bit difficult to unscrew because of the rotating polarizing lens.

They are just what I needed for taking photos of wild flowers and other objects on nature walks through nature preserve adjacent to our home. I have used on both the 18-55mm and 55-200mm zoom lenses of my digital SLR. I would recommend that these be tried to see if they do what you want before buying a very expensive macro-lens.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my nikon d3000 the close up lenses are great and come in a case. Be aware that you can not use auto focus with these close up lense filters. They only work with manual focus.
the extra cover is great I used it to stick the elastic lense cap holder to because it has a flat front unlike the raised nikon logo. I think it sticks better on this cover. besides not saying nikon its identical to the one that came with my camera.
the other filters are just a bonus I have not tried them yet.
it seems like a really great deal for all this stuff. shipping is a bit steep at $9 but I figured with the set being so inexpensive it was fine.

UV is a really good protection for you lens. It is a great product, i would recommend it to everyone especially if you are new and you dont want to pay 60$ for an expensive filter. It feels really nice and heavy. Made from metal and glass i think.. the best thing is that its cheap and it came with a cleaning cloth and small carrying bag that you keep your filters in. (More customer reviews)Based off of the two reviews I was unsure how good of a lens attachment I would be receiving, but for $7.99 I threw the dice.
I received this lens attachment a few short days after ordering and it screwed onto the front of my 18 to 55mm (D60) lens without any issue. (the lens attachment is made of metal and glass -- it feels good and sturdy).
After taking several photos I noticed that when set to the widest angle possible the corners vignette and get blurred.
For some this might be a complete turn off, for others it might mean that you just found the best accessory to add to your camera bag for eight bucks. When set to just about any setting other than the widest no vignetting is noticable.
I think it's a perfect new toy for anyone willing to experiment with accessories.
