(More customer reviews)I decided to save some money on Nikon accessories and I purchased this Satechi remote shutter as a result. The unit has a two-stage button just like the exposure button on the camera. It has a nice tactile feel so you can't accidentally hit the exposure if all you want to do is focus. The down side is that the connector has no threaded ring. It is held on by a compression fit. It is quite snug, so it will not easily fall off if the camera is moved around. My D300 has a white alignment dot next to the connector but the Satechi connector does not. So I made a mark on the connector with a white permanent ink marker. Works great! Nice investment if you want to save money.
