I love the engineered shape and design. It' has a highly reflective silver interior that returns the maximum light from the Speedlights. I LOVE the mounting bracket that attaches to a standard light stand. For $60.00 this offers so many advantages over the DIY Beauty Dish and is something I would highly recommend.
The e-Photo 16' silver Beauty Dish connected up to my Alien Bees 1600's like it was designed for it. First, I really must say; WOW, I had no idea how much light my white Alien Bees Beauty Dish was eating... From the beginning I had to reduce the power down to about 1/3 on my AB 1600 (shooting at ISO 100 with the dish about 10' from my model). I managed to get the feathered lighting effect I love so much and it was exactly where I expected it. So aiming was easy and there was relativity no learning curve jumping from the 22' white dish to the 16' silver dish.
My first attempt with this dish connected to a "Speedlight" was with my SB-800 connected directly to the camera through an i-TTL cable. I have no idea why I decided to connect the i-TTL cable, but thank God, I did. I love this setup and I love this Beauty Dish!!
I have a full review + other lighting tips on my blog: [...]

Looks:
Simply speaking, it enables you to have your soft box or umbrella attached to your camera and shooting hand-holding it. Do you imagine how professional that would look in weddings or birthdays or that sort of shooting if you are in the photography business. I kept seeing big smiles on people faces when seeing me with the bulky equipment and every one seems to be forward in wanting their picture taking thinking they will definitely look good in them.
Quality (photography produced):
I do have many different types of diffusers for my set of flashes, I do mainly location shooting (for web, catalogs, ceremonial occasions etc) and the alzo soft box on that bracket produces very good results unmatched by any other diffuser, particularly good for human portraits. The umbrella worked fine too, you can attach two units for your main light and move around with them, very useful in very low light places where you can direct either flash to different angle to illuminate little bit of the background.
Quality of Bracket manufacture:
Seems to be sturdy enough, I haven't had it for a long time yet to comment on its durability, but looks like it will hold for some time, specially when its not going to be used for every shot you take!
Practicality:
It's not very easy shooting while hand-holding that bulk! It's heavy and have to be hold in both hands because it will put stressful torque if hand held in one arm, and you will get tired very quickly. When putting it down, the camera will not rest naturally attached to the bracket. Tilting the camera however, is very easy to perform while shooting. Attaching the soft box or umbrella very easy and very practical. If you wish to detach the camera from the bracket to attach it to the tripod then you will have to change the attachment piece which is not very practical.
Price:
For me is very reasonable.
Overall review:
I never thought I will have a soft box attached to my camera this way, and although portable softbox can be set as easily apart from the camera and can be better controlled too, but what works for me well is the reaction of the people I shoot I don't only get big grins because of it but also good professional reputation. compare me with another guy shooting the same function with the old boring flash on top of his camera, who of the two would you like him to take your photo then?

I got this for my YN-467 and it works very well. It doesn't have the subtle "click" that I'm used to with Nikon speedlites paired with Nikon diffusers, but that's fine. This one does everything I need it to do.

Gary Fong GFLSC01 LightSphere Collapsible Diffuser Review

Gary Fong GFLSC01 LightSphere Collapsible Diffuser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a big fan of Gary Fong's lightsphere diffusion system despite what people may think of him or the stares I get occassionaly when using his product. It's the only lighting accessory that gives me the look I want, for either close range portraits, macro lighting in a pinch, or for use in small to medium rooms. That said, it has been inconvenient storing and carrying this accessory in the field due to its bulk. Lightsphere II solves this do a degree with its semi-malleable structure that allows for some foreceful folding. Not a solution, but one way to overcome its size.
With the release of the lightsphere collapsable, I wondered if this could retire my 2 year old lightsphere II. Was is it time for an upgrade? Yes and no. Read on for my impressions.
First, the bad:
1) The older lightsphere II is actually smaller than the collapsible in its expanded form. The lightsphere II is smaller because it does not need to collapse like an accordion, allowing it to have thinner and fewer walls, giving it a more curved, bell shape. The sphere II is also mostly transluscent, making it feel smaller because it's less visually intrusive than its cloudy big brother.
2) The lightsphere II is fitted to your particular flash model. This is very valuable for me because I never struggle fitting the accessory, as it comes on and off with ease, one handed, and stays on securely. It takes effort and practice to get the collpapsible on and off quickly, requiring me to use both hands while setting the camera on a table. Perhaps it's more an issue of technique and practice, but it's important to note I never initially had this problem with the lightsphere II. This is a double edged sword however as the sphere II can't fit on various sized speedlites, so if you need it to fit across various sizes, you will have to overlook the fit issue.
3) Light loss is greater on the collapsable compared to the lightsphere II. I estimate it to be around 1-2 stops of light, most likely due to the cloudy material vs. clear on the lightsphere II. While I understand its the nature of the beast using a diffuser, it's light I never could afford to give up when I used the lightsphere II.
4) The lightsphere collapsible is made from a material that is not only more flexible than the lightsphere II, but also stickier for some reason. It's not by any means going to stick to an object or your hands, but I noticed lint sticking to its surfaces having stored it in my cargo pocket. Nothing a quick rinse in a water faucet wouldn't fix, but lint never found its way onto my lightsphere II when carried in the same "linty" pocket.
5) I paid $39.99 for the lightsphere II 2 years ago. At [...], the collapsible is not going to break the bank, but I'm not neccessarily *getting* 50% more by *paying* 50% more if you get my drift. It's arguable however, how much the collapsible feature and one-size-fits-all approach are worth to each individual.
Now, the Good:
1) Same, even, wrap-around light as the lightsphere II. As long as you understand the limitations of light loss with the collapsible, you will essentially get the same, beautiful effect you are used to with other lightspheres. The cloudy material seems to give softer light for close portrait work and was a nice surprise I will surely take advantage of.
2) When collapsed, it folds into a disc about 1 1/2 inches thick. Although easier to store in the bottom of a bag or in a mesh pocket outside your backpack, I still don't like the fact it's noticeable larger in diamter than the sphere II. However a "can of tuna" is always easier to carry around than a tupperware bowl ;) Note: This collapsible factor will probably be THE reason why folks should look to upgrade or choose this product over previous lightspheres.
Final Thoughts:
In conclusion, I am pleased with the lightsphere collapsible's performance, but having a real hard time with of ease of use and dissappointed with light loss. It's not letting me do anything I couldn't before with my old sphere, and frankly, I'm dissappointed about needing two hands to install the diffuser instead of one. However, I don't want to minimize the fact its easier to carry along to a shoot, making this a must buy for those who prize portability but still need soft, diffused light the sphere is capable of in a pinch. Given how much I use Gary Fong's diffuser and how well it performs at diffusing light, the lightsphere collapsible will serve as a compliment to my lightsphere II, rather than a replacement. Both have a permanent place in my gear bag and will see use for years to come.

Despite the picture on Amazon, there is no CD included - there is a note about documentation being updated and eco-friendly on a website. Unfortunately, the tutorials are hosted on YouTube and FaceBook and are unavailable to corporate users who typically live behind a firewall which blocks such things. It's unfortunate that not even a cheat-sheet paper is included. These seem to be semi-pro level products, but the support is not. For $159, they should still be including the CD.
Having said that, the parts are made well and fit well on the flash. The mounting is ingenious and works perfectly on my Olympus FL-50R flashes - secure and not wobbly.
The results are as expected - if you haven't used a flash diffuser before, you will like it a lot and will probably never use straight flash again. I also own the Puffer - an excellent diffuser for pop-up flashes, so this kit helps out with the larger flashes, either on-camera or mounted on a tripod.

Orbis ENLORB1A Ring Flash Kit Review

Orbis ENLORB1A Ring Flash Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Orbis Ring Flash works quite well, especially for something that is portable! The results can compare favorably to a more expensive and traditional ringflash unit however it can depend on your flash unit and settings. Traditional ring flash units require AC power and are a pain to use in the field because of that fact. The Orbis performs surprisingly well enough that I was able to get rid of my studio ring flash unit which was a lot more cumbersome to use!
I find the Orbis pretty easy to use once you get the hang of holding it in front of your camera. One plus is that you can use it when you want to and easily put it down when you don't want to use it (it's not permanently attached to your camera). I like that it uses my existing flash unit as well. Further, I can hold it out and away from the camera and use it like a mini softbox too.
I tried the Orbis Arm but didn't like it. You cannot change lenses easily while using that and it added a lot of bulk to my already heavy DSLR system. For me, it's much easier to have the Orbis Ring Flash be a separate piece that I hold up in front of the camera when I want to use it. Since I use Pocket Wizard wireless system. The Orbis/flash combo is not attached to my camera at all while shooting and I can just grab it when I want to and then set it back down. If you use a flash cable, this becomes slightly more of a hassle, although not that bad.
Note that I believe the Orbis performs better than it's nearest competitor, the Ray Flash. The Orbis is also more universal in that it can fit almost any camera and flash combination.

The Orbis Ring Flash uses your existing flash/strobe to create the same beautiful, characteristic ring flash look that has previously only been possible with expensive studio systems. A patent-pending 'one-size-fits-most' dock means that the Orbis works with a huge range of flash/strobes with no need for add-ons. Conceived by a full-time professional photographer and developed by top optical designers, the Orbis Ring Flash is made from durable ABS plastics, weighs around 17.5oz and is totally portable. The patent-pending ‘light-tunnel\' redirects the light from your flash/strobe transforming it into an incredibly effective ring flash. A patent-pending 'one-size-fits-most' dock means that the orbis works with a huge range of flash/strobes with no need for add-ons. The Orbis enables you to take photographs with shadowless quality ring flash light without the high costs associated with buying or renting a bulky studio ring flash. All you need is a standard flash/strobe unit and an off-camera cord (or other remote triggering method). The Orbis is handheld or bracket mountable (bracket sold seperately) so neither impedes your camera system's functionality nor relies on the fragile hotshoe connection. The Orbis was designed to give passionate photographers an edge; by enabling you to quickly and easily take beautifully lit photographs, and to get the most out of your equipment.

This seemingly simple piece of molded plastic was recommended to me by a professional photographer. Basically it's the shape of an open box that slides firmly onto the flash. It is small and sturdy enough to stash in your camera bag without worrying about damage. When used the light disperses more evenly and is less harsh on the subject being photographed.
The white box is for general use. Also available are the green Omni-bounce for florescent lighting and the gold Omni-bounce for a warming effect.
PROS:
Inexpensive solution for better flash photography.
A quality product that works.

I have the gold, green and white diffusors for bounce flash. They work as advertised on my Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash. They are perfect. They are better than the gels sold in the marketplace. They fit snugly as they should, and give the desired effect. They are also very clean looking on the Flash unit. I'm not one who is into make-shift modifications for expensive and great looking equipment. If you have invested good money in your camera, then do not cheap out with inexpensive accessories or things that make your equipment look neglected and cheap. BTW: These diffusors are not expensive at all and will last a lifetime. Gels are good if you need other colors outside of these 3 basic ones. Some people like red or blue, etc. I know of no such diffusors in those colors, made by Sto-Fen. If you need or want those colors, THEN purchase the gels. But definitely start with these 3.

When I saw this, I was excited. Here was a nice looking beauty dish complete with a full sized honeycomb filter for my 580EXII. It had the hardware, it was something I could use in front of clients rather than a DIY dish.
I got it yesterday and tried to set up my flash. First thing I noticed after seeing the mounting hardware was that there was no parts list. (There were two sets of metal washers, 2 sets of plastic washers and one knob. I couldn't see anything that required two knobs so i wondered if it was a spare set. I still don't know. Of course there are no directions either. Not even a diagram.
I put it together by using the product pics on the page. After playing with it for a while, I managed to get the assembly onto a stand, with my 580 on the cold shoe. There is an order u must follow to be able to mount the flash to a receiver, mount he receiver to the shoe, attach the assembly to the dish, adjust the flash position and tighten the ball joints.
The cold shoe, is extremely flimsy and tends to tighten to a degree before loosening again. (Almost like it is stripped.)
The dish is large and heavy and puts a strain on the ball joints so they must be very tight or the dish will simply flop down or to the side. The flash can be adjusted to be outside of the dish to inside of the dish but you will need to block the open area with some sort of dark cloth to prevent light from being lost out of the back of the dish.
Maybe it's from the DIY plans I saw but I expected the inside dish to be more of a mirror but the metal reflects the light fine. What confused me was that the reflector dish was positioned with the concave side facing back to the flash. I expected the opposite so the light would reflect in a wider pattern and fill the outer dish before being reduced by the honeycomb.
I took away one star because of its total lack of even the slightest information (like a parts list) so I'd know what those extra part s were for. I took another one away because of the undersized knobs for tightening the head to keep the dish steady.
I don't expect to get a lot of life from this equipment. And while it didn't cost $250+ like other dishes it's not THAT cheap at $90.
At least I have a functional beauty dish that I can use with my off camera flashes.

Fotodiox Flash Diffuser Dome for Canon 420EX 420 EX Speedlight, Nikon SB600 Flash Speedlight Review

Fotodiox Flash Diffuser Dome for Canon 420EX 420 EX Speedlight, Nikon SB600 Flash Speedlight

I bought this flash diffuser since my Nikon SB600 does not come with one. When the package arrived it was in a plastic bag with the label 'For Canon 420EX' and I thought 'oh I've been sent the wrong item' but then looking at the invoice I remembered thats its compatible with Nikon as well.
Fitting: It took me at least 5 minutes to wrestle this thing over my SB600 flash head and there were a couple of times when I thought the flash might get damaged in the effort to fit this diffuser. I don't know if I got a warped unit but its not easy to fit this on a Nikon flash straight out of the box.
Solution: I dipped the diffuser in very hot water for about 30 seconds and this softened up the edges of the plastic, then I quickly wiped off the water and eased it over the flash head and left it there for 15 minutes for it to cool down and shape itself to the Nikon. Its still not a perfect fit but it works fine and won't fall off while you're moving your camera or flash around.
Overall I'd say its great value for money.
