(More customer reviews)I'm useing this card in a Canon 40d which bursts at 6.5 frames a second. Shot 142 pix (jpg) before I stopped shooting. I'm not sure how many frames past that it would have gone before slowing down or stopping to await the transfer from the camera buffer to the card. Fast downloads to the computer as well.
Highly recommend this cards if you need to shoot in the 'burst' speed mode. If you don't shoot a lot of action in busts mode, save your $$$ and get the Extreme III card. Also highly recommended

As an "enthusiastic amateur" with an eye toward entering photo contests I shoot hundreds of images at each photo outing. I lose enough pictures due to inexperience with exposure and composition, I don't want to risk losing the whole batch of them because of a faulty compactflash card.
After doing a lot of research on the cost and reliability of flash cards, I've settled on Lexar and have never been disappointed in six years of shooting digital. I now use a Nikon D300 and find this Lexar Professional CompactFlash card at 233x speed does a superb job of maximizing the speed of this remarkable camera.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the Transcend 8gb compactflash card a few days ago and have used it in a Canon 20d without any problem, in fact, the card came preformated. I can shoot all day without having to change cards. I have also used it with Delkin eFilm 32bit adapter on my laptop. I copied an entire DVD to the card and was able to play the movie from the card without any jumps, jitters or lags. Even the laptop's hard drive has occasional lags. The read/write times on this card are great and it is much more durable than a microdrive with a spinning disk in it. I'm very happy with the purchase!

(More customer reviews)I started using the Ultra II cards and they are rated at about 9MB/sec and they are slow for my shooting style/use. I upgraded to the Extreme III which at the time they were rated at 20MB/s and they worked extremely well. The NEW UPGRADED versions of these cards are rated for 30MB/s, make sure you select these and not the older 20MB/s rated cards as the cost is the same and no harm in getting a little extra for no additional cost. This card is outstanding and have no complaints, considering how much they have dropped in price since they have been released it is a win/win for value/capacity/performance across the board.
Always make sure after downloading your pictures to re-format these cards IN CAMERA before re-using them and they will provide years of trouble free performance. I have dropped them (they have the scars to prove it) and still perform without a problem.For downloading the pictures from the card I recommend the Extreme III card reader, downloading files is a breeze with it!
If you are considering the IV version FIRST make sure your camera can SUPPORT IT (not all cameras can support the speed so it will be a waist of money on your part). You can always order this card from Amazon and if you need more speed then return it or keep as a spare (ALWAYS KEEP A SPARE CARD NO MATTER WHAT!-they can get lost, damaged and running around looking for a memory card on short notice can be a pain.-) and purchase the IV. Keep in mind that you will need a dedicated card reader to be able to download files from the IV at "light-speed" and be able to obtain the maximum benefit from it.

(More customer reviews)Well, I've seen some dumb things before, but when Amazon allows an afiliate vendor to sell counterfeit ExtremeIV 8GB cards, now that is dumb. Especially, since the vendor was brand new to them (obviously not vetted). I bought the card from these guys just to see if it was going to be fake or not. And sure enough as soon as I got it I called SanDisk and what do you know, counterfeit as a 3 dollar bill. About the only thing that could be dumber is for SanDisk not to find a solution for this problem and lose many potential customers because of the uncertainty. BTW These are really convincing fakes, including the high quality retail packaging, the software included, even a little zipper pouch that says SanDisk on it. Maybe it will be best not to buy expensive SanDisk for some time to come.

(More customer reviews)so, i bought the 2GB Hitachi Microdrive for my girlfriend when i got her a brand new Canon 20D.... fantastic camera, and you would think that she would have no problems with 2GB worth of room (500+ pictures).... i was wrong.... several shoots later of waterfowl along the coast she kept filling the 2GB card due to the continuous shoot mode of the 20D (5 pics/second for 5 seconds)... she then had to 'borrow' my 1/2 GB compact flash card from my Canon 410... so i looked up what the 4GB microdrive was going for and was very pleased to see this drive listed... was hesitant at first in terms of the Pexagon label, but found out that they are just a US distributor for Hitachi.... so i took the plunge and am very glad of it....reformatted the card with the camera just to make sure it was all set and it has worked flawlessly ever since....she has yet to fill it on a single shoot!!! (although she has come close a couple of times)... and thus far we have never had an issue with either microdrive, especially in terms of reliability... i know some folks are concerned about shock ratings and the like, but as long as you take care of the card as well as you take care of your camera i don't see from an engineering perspective why there would be any issues....great buy!!!!!

(More customer reviews)SanDisk has pulled a fast one on us who are accustomed to the Extreme III & IV series. They've updated the Extreme III series with a new "2008" spec model. Yeah, so what... Well, the 2008 spec Extreme III 16GB CF card is almost twice as fast as the original "20x" Extreme III 16GB CF card in my Nikon D3. In fact, the 2008 16GB model is just marginally slower than my Extreme IV 8GB card in my D3. This speed increase makes a big difference for me when shooting motorsports in RAW mode and hyperactive children. Even crazier still, as of this review, Amazon is selling the 2008 spec Extreme III 16GB card for ~$15 less than this much slower model.
Do yourself a favor before buying one of these cards and see how it will perform in your camera first... google for "Rob Galbraith CF performance database" and look up your camera. Buy intelligently!

A-DATA Turbo 32 GB CompactFlash Memory Card ACF32G533XR Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this memory card instead of the SanDisk Extreme III 32GB CF card, so I could also buy a secondary Canon LP-E6 battery for my new camera for about the same money. Trust me, the battery will run out before this memory was filled with pictures (in the high-quality JPEG format only, not in RAW).
This CF card seems to be fast enough for my 21.1MP camera. Shooting in RAW format in the burst mode can last for 12 shots before it gets slowed down. I also shoot 1080p video with this card and I had no issue. The video look smooth during playback. In compared to my old 2GB SanDisk Extreme II CF card, the video was "bumpy". I copied the MOV files to my computer in both video playback cases, so I believe the issue was caused by the slower rerecording speed of the 2GB card.
I also bought an inexpensive memory card reader that supports UDMA, "Kingston 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Flash Memory Card Reader FCR-HS219/1" to speed up the files transfer time. They worked well together, and you may see my other review at Amazon.com for this memory reader for details.

(More customer reviews)I have some Extreme IV cards that I like but wanted to have extra CF cards for the times I did not have the ability to download my shots or if the worse case scenario happened and a card went bad.
I purchased a couple of these cards since the price was right and they were available in a good size (4 Gigs)
These cards have been reliable and performed well if not quite to the same level as the SanDisk in terms of burst shooting from what I could tell. For most shooting this is probably not going to be an issue. For parties, family get togethers and similar things these are fine.
It is more situations where you want to get every possible shot in high speed shooting modes with RAW that it could be an issue.
If you do not really see yourself worrying about the high speed modes often (and even then a slight performance increase) then these are a good buy.

(More customer reviews)First I must start by saying that I use this memory card (Lexar Professional UDMA 2GB (300x Speed)) with my Nikon D300. They are a perfect compliment and the card does perform well with an impressive write speed. This speed is limited by the camera's memory buffer, in which I can get approximately 20-30 consecutive shots at 6 frames per second before the camera has to pause. This speed is for the top quality JPEG files from the D300's 12.3 megapixel sensor (about 5-7MB each). Also, something worth mentioning for those who have an Epson P-3000 or newer Photo/Media Storage device, is that the Lexar Professional UDMA compact flash card IS compatible with this device. I say this because I actually called Epson prior to buying the Lexar UDMA card to inquire about compatibility since it is not mentioned. "Experts" in the technical serivce department at Epson actually said they did not think the P-3000 (model I own) would be compatible with UDMA cards. Well from my experience, all 3 of my Lexar Professional UDMA compact flash cards (2 of the 4GB, and 1 of the 2GB)work with the Epson P-3000. I highly recommend this line of fast memory cards to anyone! Hope this helps

(More customer reviews)I bought this so I could use SD cards in my Canon 40D DSLR. It fits into the card slot of the camera perfectly. The SD cards slide into the adapter smoothly and seat firmly. I've tested it with several SD and SDHC cards, all from different manufacturers, ranging in size from 256M to 4G. All were recognized by the camera, and formatted to the proper capacity. I shoot in RAW plus superfine large size JPG mode. Every shot writes about 20M to whatever card is the camera. I see no appreciable difference in the write speed between SD cards in this adapter, and CF cards.

Delkin Devices DDSDFLS-AD Secure Digital to Compact Flash Adapter Review

(More customer reviews)I have this card in my Olympus E-420 and it works great (I've tried it with PQI, Sandisk and PNY SD and SDHC cards). The write speed is slower than straight to a CF card (Sandisk Extreme III) but it's still within 10 to 15 seconds (to transfer a 6 shot Raw+FineJpeg continuous burst).
The real reason I'm writing this review though, is that Delkin has amazing customer service. I wrote them an email asking about the slower transfer speeds and they wrote back with all the details of how transfer speeds are defined and realized in a particular camera/adapter/SD card setup. They made sure that I had all the info I needed and even offered to dig up some detailed specs on this particular card. This kind of customer service is VERY RARE in todays world and it was amazing to see. Pleasantly surprised.
