OP/TECH 1501372 Pro Loop Strap for Camera Equipment (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)There are two versions of the excellent camera strap. There's this one and then there's the Op/Tech Pro Camera Strap 3/8" - Black.
There are two differences (besides cost).
This strap is considerably shorter. To my mind you can always make the longer strap shorter but once you've let this one out all the way that's all there is. I'm 6'3" and with this strap let out all the way I can sort of comfortably carry a camera over my shoulder. If I want to put the strap over my head it is very uncomfortable.
The shorter strap uses a loop through attachment while with the longer strap you need to thread the strap through your camera eyelet and then the strap buckle. I purchased the shorter strap (not realizing how short it was) for the convenience of the loop attachment. After buying the longer strap I've found that threading the strap isn't that much less convenient.
My suggestion would be to buy the other, longer strap unless you are certain the additional length will not come in handy. Either way, these are extremely comfortable straps.
Additional details about the length difference:
One strap has a max length of 46" and the other a bit over 56". The difference is the length of the two attachment pieces that connect either end of your camera to the center strap. The shorter strap comes with these: Op/Tech System Connector #9 Uni Adapter Loop, 10.5" - 13.5" (26,7 CM - 34,3 CM) each side and the longer one with these: OP/TECH USA System Connectors 3/8" (9,525mm) - Carrying strap connector - black (pack of 2 ). You can see that by going to any of the larger camera store sites and reviewing the details listed there about the two straps. Just google: "Op/Tech 1501372" and then "Op/Tech 1501012" to do searches on the two different straps mentioned in this review.
I found this out the hard way, by ordering the shorter strap without knowing the difference. I "fixed" it by ordering both the longer version of the strap and an extra set of extensions.

(More customer reviews)Whether or not you need a UV/Protecting filter on your expensive glass is a topic that is debated endlessly on photographic forums. There are those who think that it is silly to put a cheap piece of glass in front expensive glass (it can only reduce the contrast/quality of the picture right?). And there are others who think that it is a lot better to scratch/get dirty/lick(?) a cheap piece of glass than a $2000 lens.
Either way, as far as filters go, the Hoya HD filters are really nice. They are multi-coated and easy to clean. Unlike the cheap filters out there, they are made of real glass. And if you are somewhat brave, they can be had for somewhat decent prices from sellers in HK. Definitely worth getting. I have several of them (including 2 at the 77mm filter size)

I don't see the point in buying a $400 accessory that you use maybe twice a year, so if you are a nature photographer or sports photographer, this isn't for you, but for photographers who might want to photograph their local sports team or do some photo taking while hiking and not in need of professional, stock quality images, this will suit the bill. And carrying it in your camera bag won't make you as nervous about cracking the glass as would a high priced item.

The range is perfect for day to day use because it allows you to get close as well as shoot from clear across the street. 28 is a decent wide angle and the 300 is fabulous. A purchase that I would make again. The greatest part about this is that you aren't forced to change your lens over and over to capture different kinds of shots. You can leave the standard lens at home. The camera of fashion photographers, Nikon delivers on quality as always. The lens also adapts to all Nikon models. A good buy if not one of the best that I have ever made for my camera. Of course they already said all of this in the other blurb, but I just had to back them up on what they said earlier.

If you do not like the photographs just delete. After speaking with my brother about cameras, he suggested to purchase at Amazon.com. He said he saved alot of money purchasing his camera there. I checked all camera stores for the D60 and found I saved over $200 on just the camera and lens alone. All the accessories were free. What a deal and a fantastic camera.

The swivel is great; the flash is responsive; the display is easy to read; controls are simple. It does everything I need it to, and I only paid $119, which included a 4 Ni-cad batteries, a charger, and a holder for 8 batteries. It's a little tinny as far as construction, but if you're careful with your equipment like I am, it'll last you for a long time.

(More customer reviews)This Nikon skylight filter has excellent build quality and looks great. I am an amateur photographer and I was looking for a haze filter/protection filter for my D50. I would recommend getting a UV haze filter instead. It seems that the warming aspect of this filter feels just a bit too pink for my taste. If you're looking for a haze filter and still want the skylight (warming) coloration, this is a GREAT filter.

(More customer reviews)Ya can use your hand to block the sun, but then ya only have one to shoot with. Also, I dont use UV protectors, so lens protection is a valuable purpose of a hood. My only complaint is that everything for this hobby is so expensive. My other complaint is that it can be inconvenient to carry and take on and off. Perhaps a semi rigid hood that flips out for use and flips back for carry so ya never have to take it off and risk having it roll down the street or lost - I dunno.

(More customer reviews)Nikon remains one of the pioneering manufacturers with respect to perspective control lenses of which this 28mm f3.5 PC Nikkor AI-S lens is a fine example. This lens retains a manual lens diaphragm, which means that lens apertures must be opened and closed via stop-down metering. In plain English, it's not nearly as automatic as most other Nikkor lenses - both manual focusing and autofocusing - when it comes to setting the desired aperture and taking the photograph. But those who are interested in both architecture and landscape photography will appreciate the fact that this lens will adjust apparent distortions by manually shifting the lens angle via its tilt and shift feature (For example if you came up close to a forest and photographed with a regular 28mm lens, the resulting image would look as though the forest was "falling down"; instead with this perspective control lens, any photograph of the forest will show that it is still standing erect.).

(More customer reviews)I've been using this lens for three weeks now shooting marching band competitions, both day and night. Daytime shooting with the lens is great... Good sharp images with no blurring. Shooting under the stadium lights is a little tougher. On full zoom motion becomes a problem, but zoomed out the shots are still very clear.
The lens was a little stiff at first, but has loosened up with use. I do find that in certain situations (very busy shots) the focus drifts from target to target, and occassionally the camera can't lock on.
I use the lens with a D60 and can't hesitate to recommend it to anyone for casual use.
Nice lens, great price.

(More customer reviews)I was hoping these filters would be a decent alternative to reverse lens macro or even extension tubes. The filters are just ok. Since you're adding a layer of glass with each filter, you're going to lose image quality and focus, but I feel like there is just too much lost with these. I still greatly prefer reverse lens macro or extension tubes...even though I don't like having to take my lenses off of my camera body so often.

(More customer reviews)You cannot go wrong with this new lens by Tamron! I bought this lens about a month ago for use with my Nikon N65 and am very pleased. The quality of pictures this lens takes is better than my Nikor 28-80 lens plus I don't have to switch between that lens and my 80-200 lens! Picture quality and contrast is superior throughout the range of this lens (no distortion) and the zoom ring operates very smoothly. I've also noticed better depth of field in this lens over my two other lenses.
I've used the lens mainly for sporting/outdoor events (bright sun and overcast conditions) but have also taken pictures indoors in various lighting situations with the same great results. So far, I've taken about 12 rolls of film (mostly 800 speed) and have been very satisfied with my pictures. No color correction by my lab has been necessary and my developer always brags about my pictures! Between the Nikon camera and this Tamron lens, you can't go wrong!
The lens is lightweight (12 oz) but don't think you are exchanging quality for a lighter lens. This newest generation lens by Tamron combines the best of both worlds. Having to buy 62 mm filters for this lens vs. the 72 mm filters that most 28-200 zoom lenses require is another bonus.
If you are thinking about getting a 28-200 zoom lens, I definitely recommend this lens!
