(More customer reviews)I bought this camera bag after reading several reviews, and decided I would use it for a minimalist approach to photography. It works well, I don't get burdened down by unnecessary gear and burdensome weight.
It's big enough to hold my Nikon D5000, battery charger, SB400 speedlight, several filters, an Olympus point-n-shoot camera in its case, a mini tripod, cleaning kit, remote, and any other utilities. It will also hold another lens, I intend to get the recently released Nikon 28-300mm VR. It should fit, based on the dimensions of all the gear and other reviews.
It works better over a t-shirt than over a shirt. Generally stick to tees or buttonless tops for comfort.
It's comfortable, light, packs into another back pack if required with space for other items. I did that for aircraft carry on during a recent trip to Petra in Jordan (October 2010).
The 302 version of the bag was too large, and I have no need for pro sized bags. If you're looking for a bag that will help you prevent clutter, give you quick, easy access to your gear, be light and unobtrusive and not get in your way, then I recommend this item.
FYI, I also own the Lowepro Passport Sling.

Promaster Contour Pro Strap, Black Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this strap to replace the one that came with my Rebel T1i. The main things I was looking for in a strap were comfort and the ability to sling my camera over my shoulder and carry it by my hip. This strap comes through on these desires and then some.
The total length of the strap is 52 in, not including the extra 1/2 inch used to safely secure straps. If I add in the width of my camera on the straps, this gives me an effective 4.5 Inches. The total circumference of the oval made by this strap can get around ~56 inches. Now, I'm a pretty big guy, I stand about 5' 10" 5' 11" on a good day, But I have a rather barrel chested build, so I tend to wear my strapped items, backpacks, book bags, golf bags, at their extended limit. This strap goes around my body over the should and comfortably rests on my hip. I believe that a skinnier person of great heights could easily wear this strap at the same position. and this strap will probably fit most people including the lovely ladies at heights less than mine.
I believe that it is pretty obvious that I find this strap to be comfortable, I walked for 10 miles the other day with a decent sized 250mm lens and never felt it. The neopream really does a great job at absorbing the weight of the camera system. I doubt it will do anything to help out with my Bigma 150-500mm lens, but I haven't tried it.
As far as the price goes, amazon sells this strap at a reasonable price. I bought mine at a local camera shop. I may have paid twice as much for it, but sometimes it's nice to support the local guys, not that I have ever had a problem with Amazon (as my purchasing history will prove.
This strap does have a nice quick release system for tripod use, now I know that most finer caliber straps have this feature, but to me this was a very nice addition. I was always slightly annoyed by the unused neck strap just sloppily flopped over on it's side while not in use. with this strap I can disconnect the strap easily and quickly from the camera, thread it through a belt loop and reconnect it to securely get the strap out of my way. all that is left are two insignificant straps that I can either let dangle discretely to the sides or better yet reattach them around a secure section on my tripod for added security.
I would love to say that I am as big a fan of the quality as the rest of the features, but one of the straps slipped and came undone before I even had a chance to fiddle with them. if it weren't for some quick hands on my part, I wouldn't be so favorable with this product. I don't know if a kid had messed with mine in the store, I can't imagine Promaster letting this be standard practice, just another reason to shop with Amazon, there Amazon you happy now? I guess this will show me for trying to support the little mom and pop store during a down economy. :)
Overall this is a great product, I have not had a single indecent since that first day, so I know the quality of the product is certainly top notch.

Just to test the range, I set up my camera in my living room and triggered it 10 times from inside my detached garage about 120' away. It fired 10 for 10. It has a button on the receiver, so it can be used as a wired cable release and it works in bulb mode both wired and wirelessly. It comes with three different ends to fit a variety of Nikon cameras, so there's no need to worry about getting the correct one for your model. There is no channel adjustment, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. I don't know if that will be a problem or not.
I have a Nikon IR remote for my D80, but the range on it stinks and you can only use it from front-left of the camera. If, you're thinking of an IR remote, you should consider this instead.

(More customer reviews)I got this set for a gift and I'm fairly well pleased. You really can take some great close ups and capture incredible detail. My only complaints are that it feels cheap and that the auto-focus is hit or miss.
When I say it feels cheap, I mean that it's very light-weight, clearly plastic, and you can hear parts rattle a bit. The fit to the lens and the camera body isn't as smooth as I'd like. I often feel like something's going to snap as I try to align the tubes with each other or with the camera/lens. I also don't have a ton of confidence that my 200mm lens is entirely safe when I have more than the smallest tube on. I definitely take the them off if I'm going to move from one spot to another. Even the little bounce from walking around seems like it might be too much for the plastic on this set to handle. The last thing I want is for my expensive lens to fall off because it's too heavy for the extension tubes to support. There's definitely some sag when I have a long lens and all three sections of the set on.
Speaking of having all three sections on... if you do, forget about auto-focus. With one section on, you can get it to autofocus about 1/3 of the time. With two sections on, it's about 1/8 or so, and with all three, it's virtually never. I know that the depth of focus is very narrow, so you have to have the distance between you and your subject just right, but I still can rarely get the autofocus to work, even if I use a tripod and keep everything just so...
Still, I've taken some great shots, and my expectations weren't super high, so I'm pleased.

Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). Lexerd - Nikon D5000 TrueVue Crystal Clear Digital Camera Screen Protector Review

(More customer reviews)Since I usually get it wrong, I wanted a pre-cut LCD protector I didn't need to cut to the right size. I also needed one that was thin enough to allow the Nikon D5000 LCD to close as if nothing was there (a feat few other protectors achieve).
This does both perfectly.
Nikon made it difficult for aftermarket LCD protectors on two counts: First, anything but the thinnest material will prevent the LCD from rotating and closing in its original position. Second, the LCD panel is ever-so-slightly beveled on the edges, making it nearly impossible for any LCD protector to fit perfectly right up to the edge of the display. Nevertheless, this item is nicely cut for the entire surface of the Nikon display.
If you're very particular like me, you'll notice a 1mm bevel that prevents any protector from adhering perfectly flat to the edges. Nonetheless, this item gets it right by being as perfectly cut as possible. The protector stays in-place and does its job well.
Since there are no instructions, here are a few tricks to get this installed correctly: there's only one protective sheet (some LCD protectors come with two). So, as you pull it away to expose the adhesive side, place that side against your camera's LCD. Start on an edge (not a diagonal) and gradually 'roll' the item onto the display using a credit card. Continue flattening it against the LCD and pushing out air bubbles along the way. If you find fingerprints, fuzz or a piece of hair adhere to the adhesive side as you're applying it, use a bit of transparent tape to pull it off (not your fingers!) and continue. When finished, give it some strong strokes with a credit card to push out remaining bubbles and make it firm.

(More customer reviews)I had this flash for a Sony and now for my Nikon D300. I also have a SB-600 flash unit which is of course way better, but also way expensive - I guess nobody here should expect the same quality for 1/4 of the price.
The build is overall cheap but okay for the price, it will last a while when you take care of it. The major downside is that it's not really a TTL flash. The title says something about "automatic", I'm really unsure what they mean with that. Fact is, it produces a strong flash, you can swivel the head (even at the wall behind you) but it doesn't communicate with the camera. You can still use it on-camera though, but it's more like a manual flash gun, so operating the camera in auto-mode will most likely produce an overexposed photo. If you're unsure if you should buy it... it's an okay budget flash which will give you more options than the popup-flash, but if you're more like the I-use-my-SLR-only-in-auto-mode guy than better invest $100+ in a TTL flash which will get more information from and to the camera than: Fire flash now!
But here's the deal: Buy a remote FM-trigger (I use the "CowboyStudio NPT-04 4 Channel Wireless Hot Shoe Flash Trigger Receiver for Canon EOS, Nikon, Olympus & Pentax Flashes Other products by cowboystudio") and use this flash as an off-camera remote unit. Again, manual mode operation of your camera is recommended, but you can achieve great results with this off-camera set for $70 (flash + trigger). Combine it with a lighting stand, camera bracket and umbrella, and you have a portable studio lighting set for about $100-$130. This flash does even fit better on the remote trigger than my SB-600 because it has a screw-ring (not shown in the product picture) to tighten it to the flash-shoe-mount.

Nikon - D80 DSLR Camera w/Nikon 18-55mm F/3.5-4.5G AF-S DXS Lens Review

(More customer reviews)I'm exceptionally pleased with this purchase. The D80 feels very well designed, very well thought-out, very capable without being too complicated. I was considering the D200 before the D80 was announced, but it seemed like a lot of money for a body, given that I'm just a hobby photographer. The D80 seems to be most of a D200 without the more expensive magnesium body and the weather-proofing--nice things I would love to have, but does it really make sense given my use and the $800 difference. The hardest part for me was the 3 frame per second burst rate of the D80 compared to the 5fps of the D200, but Ken Rockwell and others wrote that unless you are shooting a lot of sports, you're probably going to be happy with the 3fps and I think I am. Also, I took Ken's advice and went with this lens which is the least expensive of the kit lenses and placed my order for the impossible to get 18-200mm Nikon lens. This lens doesn't have a lot of reach but it seems amazing in quality.

(More customer reviews)This case (bag?) is quite nicely made. It just fits nicely a Nikon D90 which is 5" wide, 4" high. and 2" deep. I carry it with a Tamron 18-270 attached. The lens is about 4-1/2" long and 3" in diameter. I hope that helps.

The features such as changing the colors of your pictures are pretty neat, and the video recording is an excellent addition. Much better than a regular digital camera, and very affordable.

I bought this to use on a Nikon D40 and found it to work very well in good light and it will auto focus as fast as the 55-200 Nikon kit lens. There are a few drawbacks, first it will search for focus in poor light, second under the right lighting and aperture you will get purple fringing at longer focal lengths. After I upgraded to the Nikon D90 the purple fringing or CA more or less went away, as it is taken care of in camera. The lens is a bit soft in lower light, but is generally excellent in good lighting. There is no hard infinity stop, which to me is a drawback. I use manual focus quite a bit for selective depth of field and would really like a hard infinity stop. Camera shake can be a problem at longer focal lengths, but that is normal for any long tele.
Pros:
Very good pricing
Sturdy build for the price
Easy to operate - one finger focus and zoom
Little to no zoom creep so far - 6 months use - 3 different cameras
Quick auto focus in good light
Excellent Macro function
Cons:
purple fringing at some apertures in low light and harsh direct lighting
No hard infinity stop - To manual focus on the moon you have to pull back just a bit from infinity to get focus
A little soft at all apertures and focal lengths in lower light conditions
Will hunt for focus in lower light such as an indoor school auditorium - manual focus works best here
No image stabilization, but for the price I am not complaining, I hardly use IS anyway.
I would recommend this lens to anyone who wants a inexpensive long tele lens that shoots in good or bright light. A great beginners lens, that in order to get good pictures in less than ideal lighting conditions will force you to learn technique. This is probably not a good wedding shooters lens, a f/2.8 would be needed for that, but for a general walk around daylight lens this is priced right.
