I have taken it to 120 feet and I has held up fine (it is only rated to 100 feet however, so go deeper at your own risk) I use the flash a lot, but where I dive there is not much particulate in the water, so backscatter was not an issue, except when I was in caves and such. I highly recommend this case to anyone wanting to take underwater photos. An external strobe would improve photos a lot, and I am working on fabricating one to work with my Powershot. There is a tripod mount-style hole on the bottom of the case that facilitates attachment to a strobe assembly. I usually set the camera to automatically power down after 5 mins, this saves battery somewhat. I have been able to take up to 90 shots over the course of about 6 hours (2 dives and a long surface interval) with 80% of the shots with flash. Thats about as far as one can extend the battery's life. Get an extra battery if you plan on doing more work than that without a recharge, Overall it is an excellent product to go with an excellent camera

(More customer reviews)The price for this thing is pretty steep but it's made in Japan and it's well constructed. The first thing to note is that it was a little bigger than I expected which made the camera and case combo a bit bulky. It would probably be inconvenient for most land activities. It is very important to read the instruction manual for this product! The most disconcerting thing is that if it leaks and your camera gets destroyed, Canon won't pay for your camera repairs even though they designed it. Also, if you don't apply the grease that comes with the case I suspect it might leak.
We bought this primary for snorkeling in Maui with my Canon S70. If you follow the directions it actually works great. The case lens does fog up, but it takes much longer to fog up than the snorkeling masks did. So by the time it got a little foggy we just brought it to the boat and opened it up for a few minutes and then it was good to go again. As a side note, if you plan to use this for snorkeling, try to get some weights for your body so that you're not so buoyant. Every time I would try to swim underwater to get a shot of some fish I would not have time to focus and get a good shot because I would immediately start floating back up when I started working the camera. It was very frustrating.
Overall we were happy with the camera case. It did not leak at all during our trip and we got a lot of great underwater pictures.

- For the price, it goes to F3.5, which is as good or better than similarly priced lenses.
- I wanted a dramatic fisheye effect and this lens certainly delivers.
Cons:
- When used with a camera like the EOS 20D, it does not support flashes like the 550EX. The flash simply becomes disabled.
Overall:
If you usually buy L series lenses, you will find the limitations of this lens as a disappointment. However, if you usually stick to the more budget priced lenses, then you will likely enjoy this lens. It is a fine fisheye for the price.

(More customer reviews)We just got back from Hawaii and took this with us when we went snorkling. This is a great product that keeps your camera dry. The only problem is that the case is a one-size-fits-all. Even though the description of the product said it would fit my Cannon SD-1000, the camera was very loose inside the case. You have to make sure that your camera lens is centered inside their lens ring when taking pictures, otherwise you'll get a black ring around your photos. It is very difficult to do this when underwater because there is so much free play with the camera. I solved that problem by stuffing Kleenex on the two sides and the bottom of the camera so it was wedged in the case and wouldn't move around on me. Another problem I encountered is that when I centered my camera lens in the hole, their black ring blocked half of my flash. I couldn't get the camera positioned where the lens was centered and my flash was unubstructed.
On the plus side - the case kept my camera dry and my pictures came out great. I was snorkling in shallow waters in the morning and didn't need my flash, so that didn't seem to be a problem. This is a very affordable product for underwater photography. I didn't want to spend $300 on an underwater digital camera for just a couple of days use and I've tried the disposable underwater cameras without much luck. You didn't know if you got a good picture until you had your film developed. With this product, I was able to use the camera I already had and I liked to take great unerwater shots.
I would have given this 4 stars if it had been better fit to my camera. I would highly recommend it if you don't mind taking the time to wedge your camera inside the case prior to going into the water. Once you're in the water, you can't see your display to see if your lens is centered.

Waterproof Case- This is what you're mainly purchasing this package for. You place your camera in the case and water is sealed out with a ziploc. The end is rolled over several times and velcro-ed down. I was a little skeptical at first, but following the directions helped relieve some of those concerns (you test it first by putting a paper towel in the case and submerging it in water). The case keeps your camera dry while allowing you to take pictures. That being said, it's a "one case fits many" so I found that there was a lot of empty space when I slipped my Sony Cybershot DSC-W50 in the case. Since it's not a perfect fit, it was hard to center the lens in the opening. Some of my initial pictures have black corners when the camera slipped out of place. Aside from that, it's very easy to use and I'm pretty happy with the product.
Tripod- It's lightweight and extremely adjustable. I wouldn't call it flimsy or sturdy (somewhere in the middle) but it does the job.
Case- The case is extremely roomy if you plan on just putting your handheld and the waterproof case in there. Plenty of room for the digital camera cleaning kit, batteries and a charger. Might be too big for some.
Digital Camera Cleaning Kit - It comes with a pack of soft tissue paper (lens paper), lens cleaning fluid, a blower & soft brush, a fiber cloth (similar to ones you get with eyeglasses), and 5 cotton swabs. It does the job, nothing fancy here.

DicaPac WP510 185x118mm Large Alfa Waterproof Digital Camera Case with Optical Lens (Clear) Review

(More customer reviews)I like this case because it doesn't cost a lot and it allows you to use your own digital camera. I used it few days ago and it worked well. It takes some getting used to because it is sometimes difficult to push the buttons through the hard plastic cover.
I took the Dicapac out with me on a surfing trip to Green Lake and I lost it once when I fell off my surfboard. Luckily it floated on the surface so I could retrieve it. The unit did a good job keeping water out.
Different cameras have different lenses. For me I use Panasonic ZR1 and the lens is kind of small. When I turn the camera on I have to make sure I don't get the black round corners in the picture. To avoid this I can either zoom in with the lens which makes it protrude more and move it closer to the edge of the ring, or I can simply manipulate the black ring so that it isn't so close to the edge. Sorry, I don't have any "guaranteed" work arounds for this, you just have to work with it.
Sound comes out well even though it's encased in the plastic.
When I first put the camera inside I didn't realize the lens cover came off the Dicapac as well (you twist it). Not sure what this does, but it may help you to put the camera in if it's a tight fit. There wasn't an instruction manual.
I've used disposable waterproof cameras by Fuji and Kodak and I would much rather go with a digital camera. This way the pictures come out better, assuming you have enough light, and you can also shoot video.
Shooting underwater is tough. If you've ever done it before you know how challenging it can be, especially in moving water. The hardest part is having enough light. I would not go more than 3 or 4 feet under because you lose light in a hurry after that. If you are 6 feet or deeper then don't be surprised if the picture doesn't turn out.
If you are shooting in a place with lots of moisture like under a waterfall or at a beach where there's lots of sand, you can use this case to protect the lens and camera.
Tips
- Tie a string or something to the Dicapac and attach it to your arm or wrist. The worst thing you can do is lose it in the water and watch your expensive digital camera and/or waterproof pouch sink.
- If you shoot video and you get the black ring showing in the picture you can use video editor like Sony Vegas to zoom in on the picture and crop out the black part. For pictures you can use Photoshop.
- When you put your camera in, make sure there's some air inside. This way if you ever lose the camera, it will float.
- If you are really paranoid about water getting inside you can put alka seltzer tablet in with it. This way if water gets inside it will start fizzling and you'll know it's leaking.

All controls are accessible and easy to use underwater - I also got the flash bar / arm / flash / fiber optic cable - that also performs well. I use it with the L18.

No need to spend a couple hundred dollars on a underwater housing case or a few hundred for an camera specifically made for underwater. Also don't settle the the cheap one time use under water cameras. These cases allow you to take beautiful clear pictures using your own digital camera. I needed a waterproof case for my Canon PowerShot SD1100IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Blue) and since I already owned a Dicapac for a another brand of camera I knew there would be no other choice for me than the DicaPac brand. This is a terrific way to protect your camera from water, sand and even snow. The optical lens sometimes interfere with the camera's zooms lens, just make sure to hold the lens from the camera's view. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Check out the photos I attached to the product page so you can see yourself how clear and beautiful the pictures turned out.
