I question how much protection the product really offers, and it adds a lot of bulk/weight to the camera. The camera is 30 oz (empty), adding this adds another 10 oz on top of that, or 33%. As far as impact protection goes it does offer a lot on the bottom, but not much elsewhere. The issue is the bottom probably needs the least protection as this is generally a protected area anyway. The flash insert is sort of creative and would likely offer some protection.
As another reviewer mentions too, I would be afraid to get dirt in around the armor and actual abraid the case worse than otherwise, how the old vinyl car bras (front end protectors) are worse than not having them on for the same reason.
The lens protector is nothing more than an expandable rubber hood. On the plus side is that it is easy to use, but be sure it will fit your lens, if the focus ring is near the end it won't work.
My favorite thing with the product is the very large and secure grip offered. It fits my large hands well. Would I buy one? Probably not. This product is all about the image offered, "look at my big tough camera".

(More customer reviews)This product is essentially a rubber body glove to protect cameras from impacts and scrapes. In addition, it comes with a rubber attachment to protect the front of one lens as well as a plastic shield for your LCD. The D40 already comes with a similar protector but if nothing else you can use this one as a spare.
Installation of the armor is a pretty simple affair. You will need to remove your neck strap to put it on and can reattach it when the armor is in place. It requires a bit of tweaking, but once properly arranged, the rubber fit the camera snugly, had no bulges, and was not prone random movement. Many of the controls and buttons are left exposed but certain buttons are covered to improve the structural integrity of the armor. In these cases, the button is articulated into the armor and the label is also molded into the button so you can see what it is. The problem is that the label molded into the armor is black-on-black whereas your camera has white lettering against the black button for far superior ease of reading. Some of the controls are also uncomfortably close to the edge of the rubber so that it is not as easy or comfortable to manipulate them.
In terms of protection, I was disappointed. On the plus side, it should provide very strong protection from scratches. The rubber will also provide very minor protection from impact but you need to be realistic about what it can do. Any real impact against rock or concrete will likely pose just as much chance of fatal damage as a camera would face without the Camera Armor.
The lens protector is a nice idea but is also a decidedly mixed blessing. If you use any filters, it will be very inconvenient to put them on or take them off while the armor is in place. Even adjusting a circular polarizer is difficult. You can take the armor off and put it back on but this is a pretty rigorous process and not something you want to do all the time while trying to shoot. Also, you can forget about using a lens hood. The armor will completely cover the threads that the hood attaches to. Both of these are deal breakers for me as I use a circular polarizer almost constantly and I can't accept anything that makes it difficult for me to use. Lens hoods are equally essential on sunny days. I should add that, like the armor for the camera body, this piece will protect your lens from only the most gentle impact.
Finally, there is one more drawback to this Camera Armor, although it will not affect everyone. The armor extends down to the bottom plate of the camera. If you use a tripod, you will need to check the plate that attaches to the bottom of your camera. If it protrudes beyond the edge of the camera at all, then you probably won't be able to attach it while the Camera Armor is on.
This is a long review, so allow me to summarize. Camera Armor offers superficial protection, primarily against scratches. If this is important to you, then you should definitely consider buying. You must be prepared to sacrifice all filters, ease of use for your camera, lens hoods, and most likely the ability to use a tripod. In my eyes, this is simply an unacceptable level of restrictions to use something that offers so little real protection.

Matin LCD Monitor Protective Film for Nikon D90 Digital SLR Cameras Review

The D90 comes with a detachable rigid plastic screen protector and I thought it was enough, but a bit of sand somehow got lodged between the protector and the screen itself, scratching both in the process. Next time I buy a new camera, I'll buy an adhesive protector right away.
This LCD protector kit comes with three pieces - a clear protective cover for the main D90 "monitor" screen, a clear cover for the top control panel display, and a paper "squeegee-card" for pressing out air bubbles after application. To apply, I thoroughly cleaned the camera with a clean micro-fiber cloth (this is key). Each cover comes with a clear backing and a paper tab to make it easy to separate the backing to expose the adhesive side of the cover. The covers themselves are somewhat rigid, so I was able to hold each cover by the edges between my fingers after removing the backing, taking care not to touch the adhesive side. Next, I simply lined up the bottom edge of the cover with the bottom edge of the monitor screen and gently rolled the cover into place. I used a rubber spatula to push out a few small air bubbles, and it looks perfect. You can barely tell it's there.
The smaller cover for the control panel screen was not a perfect fit, and that's why I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5. It was an easy fix, however. I was able to trim the piece to fit with a pair of scissors in about 1 minute. Again, I rolled it into place with minimal fuss. It's easy to pull the cover back up again if you don't align it perfectly the first time. Once applied, it looks like it's part of the camera.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and will definitely buy again.

One of the most important and enjoyable features of your digital camera is its LCD monitor. The multicoated surfaces of these LCD screens tend to be difficult to clean and, if left unprotected, can accidentally be permanently scratched or marred. It's not fun to have to compose and view your images through scratches haze or dirt.

The LCD monitor is also one of the most expensive parts of your camera to replace and will not be covered under warranty if scratched or marred. (More customer reviews)This product is just about the same for all models, this is for the D90. There are, however, some slight improvements as the models evolve.
Let me start off by telling you why I was looking for this. The main reason is that I don't like to carry around a camera case. I just like to grab the camera and go. For long trips, I will use a case, but general everyday use and around town, who wants to lug a case around. So I wanted something that I don't need to open and close. A neoprene cover is not form fitting and you still have to take it off. This looks perfect. There's second reason too. I upgraded from a 6 yrs old D70 to the D90. Everything about the D90 is perfect... except for the size. Why did Nikon make it so small? The D70 was perfect in size, D90, too small. Grip is too thin and body not tall enough. I'm not a big guy, but my hand is decently large and I have long fingers. So grabbing the D90 just felt really weird, like I'm pinching it. From the pictures, the armor will give it a nice wrap and add thickness.
Well readers, I got everything I wanted. I read the other reviews.
* Many thought the cover made the buttons hard to press. Well, yes, you have to press a little harder, but it really is no big deal, at all.
* Some say you can't read the icons. True, there's no white letters, but the impression on the rubber is deep enough that you can read them pretty easily. If you use the camera much at all you'd know most buttons pretty well. With the impressions on the rubber you'll see it quite easily. This was one of my big worries, no worries now.
* Many people had a hard time putting the camera on tri-pot with the cover on. Looks like Camera Armor found a good way. I don't know what the old ones are like, but the new one has a very thick bottom plate, harder rubber material. This place is about 1/3 inch thick. No way you can still screw on the tri-pot. But wait... there's an attached metal button screw that goes into the screw hole. The screw has a hole of its own. So once you screw it in, it's flush to the bottom and has a hole with thread for tri-pot. It's a tri-pot hole extender! Super!
So, it does everything the other reviewers mentioned. The issues (3 above) I found are non issues with this model. The overall camera is about 1/3 to 1/2 inch thicker around the grip area, and 1/3 inch taller. Just perfect. If you think the D90 is perfect without a cover, then with the cover you'll probably think it's too big. For me, wonderful.
It does pickup dust, ol well. No big deal. One thing I don't like is the SD door cover. There is nothing there. When gripping, it feels a little weird. They could have placed a rubber flap there I think to make the grip more complete. Also, the cover covers the Nikon logo just below the flash, maybe could have left a hole to show it. Does it really matter? Lastly, I think the lens cover is crap. So ugly and not useful. Not worth taking a star away though.
Overall, 5 stars! It's been a while since I was so happy with purchasing a product... helps to set the expectation low...
