(More customer reviews)This memory card is compatible only with devices (usually cameras) that can use SDHC, a relatively new high capacity memory card that greatly increases the storage space without changing the size of the card from the maximum 2 GB of regular SD cards. Check your camera/device to make sure you can use this before you spend the money. Otherwise, you'll have to settle for 2GB of SD memory. This card holds tons of 10MP photos -- my camera lists 2000 photos at 9 megapixels, but I've never been able to max it out. If you really use a lot of memory, you may want to consider the pricier (and twice as large) Toshiba SDHC Memory Card - 16GB.
Consumers should shop around for the best price in 8GB SDHC cards since one manufacturer doesn't necessary create a better card than another and since prices often change. As long as you stick with known brands and reputable dealers, you should not have any problems.

(More customer reviews)I bought the A-Data 16GB Class 6 Turbo SDHC card to use in my Canon PowerShot A570 IS camera. (Yeah, it's probably incredible overkill, but I really wanted the large memory capacity.) The card was purchased in June, 2009, and has been used extensively since then with no problems whatsoever.
On inserting the SDHC card into the camera, the card was immediately recognized and quickly formatted. The camera takes 7.1-megapixel images; this card has the capacity to store 5107 of the highest-quality photos or two-and-a-quarter hours of the highest-quality video (according to the camera display).
Regarding data-transfer speed, I attached the card to my Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop and timed how long it took to load the empty card with several files that totaled about 14.9 GB. When plugged into the SD/MMC slot, the transfer rate was 3.37 MB per second; when attached to a USB port (through the neat adapter that was shipped with the card), the transfer rate was 6.63 MB per second. As I understand the SDHC rating system, the USB transfer rate makes this a Class 6 card with a 40x rating - the lowest Class 6 rating. The card can be used for the Microsoft "Vista" Ready-Boost feature, if you are so inclined.
The SDHC card I received was manufactured in Taiwan and shipped mounted on a factory-sealed display card, on which the USB adapter was also mounted.
Before ordering this SDHC card, I read most of the comments sent in by other purchasers - particularly the negative comments. Considering the price of the card, I felt the benefit-to-risk ratio was great enough to make the gamble of purchasing this card worthwhile.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the 16GB version (Transcend 16GB SDHC CARD with Compact Card Reader) of this package a few months ago. The card was meant to be used in my Canon S5 camera. But I soon discovered that it works extremely well with the included card reader as an USB flash drive (much larger and faster than my SanDisk 4GB Cruzer Micro). So I ended up using it mainly for data backup and transfer between my laptop and desktop computers. The card has proven to be fast and reliable in the past 2-3 months of daily usage.
As first I was skeptical about Transcend's speed rating of 'class 6', which means minimum 6MB/S when writing. But my own benchmark results (see Customer Images) showed that this card is capable of writing typical photo files at 10.5MB/S - nearly twice its specified minimum data transfer rate. Just for reference, the Sandisk 8GB EXTREME III claims a faster speed of 20MB/S, but it costs about twice as much.
Considering its low cost and respectable speed, this Transcend card is an excellent buy. But please make sure that you order it from a reputable vendor only. Several reviewers who ordered the 16GB version from TheMemStore complained that they received some no-name card reader (instead of the Transcend DRS5). This may explain why some people have encountered problems when using this card.

I have purchased a total of three Transcend SDHC cards (two 16GB + one 8GB) in the past 10 months. They all worked perfectly so far. The second 16GB card is for use in my new Canon Rebel T1i/500D. I have heard that some other brands of 'class-6' cards cannot keep up with the camera in video mode, and will cause buffer overflow within a few minutes. But the Transcend card has no problems at all. I'm going to purchase my 3rd 16GB card next.

I have highly recommended Transcend SDHC cards in the past, becuase they were much cheaper than Sandisk Extreme III (class-6) cards, and worked just fine in my applications. But in light of many complaints about Transcend card failures, and my recent finding that SanDisk Ultra II (class-2/4) cards are just as fast as Transcend 'class-6' cards, I must now recommend Sandisk Ultra II as a better and safer choice.

The low-life that made the first review should pay careful attention. The above is an example of a REAL *review*. Mr. "Sucker bait" just posted an empty ideology that is more-so meant for message boards where people complain about stuff that doesn't matter. If you don't like the idea of a warranty - DON'T BUY ONE!! I don't need to know that you disapprove of my purchase, based on your own sovereignty; and I certainly don't need to be bothered researching a 1-star review like that. The card's speed would be useful in two cases - faster shoot rate when the camera can write 200x in continuous shooting, or faster download to computer when the card reader can read 200x.
Unless you checked either camera or card reader to go beyond 100x (e.g. Canon 450D does 100x top, see card readers in another review), a 16GB SanDisk Ultra II card would be a better deal - you'll get the same performance & card size for less than half the price.

(More customer reviews)I bought a Panasonic Lumix 14MP camera after my 7MP Sony focus stopped working. The camera needed some memory, so I started looking at all the options.
The Lumix does 720p video, which takes up a lot of space. Shooting video also requires a fairly fast transfer rate, so I started reviewing different card classes.
Class 2 - not fast enough.
Class 4 - maybe fast enough, but that 'possibly not' made me start looking at Class 6 and 10.
Class 10 - definitely fast enough, but way too expensive for what you get. I don't want to spend more on a memory card than I spent on the camera.
Class 6 - looks like the right speed and price-point for what I want.
My (then) fiancee and I were planning a trip to Hawaii, so I anticipated shooting many pictures and videos. 16GB should do.
When I popped the card in the camera, no formatting was needed, and it just worked. Great!
I shot a few pictures and video around the house.
I took the memory card out, put it in the SD card slot in my Dell E6400 laptop.
Copying the files from the card worked at about 15MB - 18MB/sec. Not bad, when the card shows 20MB/sec max speed.
I copied files to the card, and got roughly 12MB - 14MB/sec transfer rate. That's pretty good for writes to flash memory.
With decent transfer rates and the right amount of capacity, we went to Hawaii.
I shot multiple days of pictures and a couple 720p videos, never having to offload anything from the camera to the laptop.
After a week, we went to Kauai. We had a 1 hour helicopter tour scheduled the next day, so I decided to offload everything to the laptop so I could start with an empty memory stick.
During the flight, I switched back and forth between 14MP pictures and full 720p video. The camera was shooting something almost the entire hour, and I ended the flight with approximately ~50 pictures of space left. Nice.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the memory card. It does the job, and I didn't need to spend the extra cash on the class 10 card. 16GB is enough capacity, although I would recommend 2 cards (and 2 batteries) if you are going to shoot 720p video for multiple days.

This battery charger enables you to charge the second battery and have it ready when the first one fails. Now I won't miss those photos I missed before!!
The only problem is the battery does not fit in tightly to the charger, so be careful it doesn't fall out.

SDHC cards are rated in MegaBytes per second (MB/sec). HD camcorders are rated in Megabits per second (Mb/sec). There are 8 bits per Byte.
Therefore, an HD camcorder with 24Mb/sec video capture requires (24Mb/sec) / (8Mb/MB) = 3MB/sec SDHC card. A Class 4 SDHC card with at least 4MB/sec data transfer is more than enough to capture full HD. Those camcorders are not designed to work with Class 6 and Class 10 cards.
Remember that Full HD, 1920 x 1080 pixels = 2,073,600 pixels, or 2 Megapixels. Digital SLRs shoot at 12 Megapixels with minimal lag time between shots requiring much higher data transfer rates than HD camcorders.
Consequently, people who use Extreme Class 10 SDHC cards with high speed digital SLRs seem happy, but people using them with HD camcorders are not. It can be confusing, but you must use the appropriate card for your application. Faster is not always better.
