(More customer reviews)Product works exactly as advertised, and is very convenient to have and I'm glad I bought it. It's easy to configure and exceptionally easy to use.
But I have two gripes about issues that I didn't discover until after I got it (but which are well-documented on Eye-Fi's website):
1) With my camera (a Nikon D40), the camera won't leave the power on to the card long enough after a picture is taken, so the pictures don't get uploaded. The workaround is easy - turn the camera off and back on. But it's annoying to have to remember to do that, because that's the point of the card - to not have to think about it. (Of course, this is really Nikon's fault, not Eye-Fi's, but it affects me nonetheless.)
2) The Eye-Fi has a feature that lets it upload both to a home computer and to a website (like Flickr or SmugMug). I knew that the Eye-Fi supported doing the uploads also to an FTP site, and I planned on using that feature to let it upload pictures to my home web server from anywhere I could get a wi-fi connection. It turned out that there were a number of problems with that plan:
a) It only uses "FTPS" while "SFTP" would have been much easier for me to set up, and much more secure
b) The pictures all go through Eye-Fi's servers before going to the FTP site, which I didn't realize (and this part isn't especially well documented), and I'm not OK with that
c) It takes a long time for the pictures to actually make it from the card to Eye-Fi to the FTP server, so it was very hard to trust that the system was working reliably
d) There's no way to tell the Eye-Fi to then NOT upload the pictures via my home wifi, if they were uploaded via FTP.
So I just don't use the "upload via FTP" feature, and that's fine.
So like I said, it's a good product that does what it says, so if you just want it to do the base things, go for it! On the other hand, if you have a D40, or you want to use it to upload to a home FTP site, consider this review before doing so.

I called tech support and read through every page of the manual and still couldn't figure it out - and I'm a tech guru! No one at Nikon tech support was very helpful (probably because it's still kind of new), they just kept emailing me the manuals.
Anyway, here's the mystery setup instructions:
(before anything - you need to setup a wifi connection - the nikon instructions are fine for this part. either use a publicly available hotspot or your home wireless router, plug in the password if there is one)
1. In the camera, setup your alias and email address. It's hard to figure out which character is the period (it looks like a comma rather than a dot midway up).
2. Take a photo and send it to anyone - preferably yourself.
3. Not only should you receive a copy of the photo to your email account, but Nikon Connect2 service will send you a series of email messages with the instructions to register for the connect 2 service. Without registering, all the other wifi features won't work
NOTE - if you don't get the series of email instructions but you do get the photo, then you entered the sender's address incorrectly but entered the recipient address correctly.
If you don't get any emails - then both addresses are incorrect.
4. Follow the instruction to setup the connect2 service. Without doing this, you can't link to your flickr account and you can't get access to the other connect2 features.
5. Once you've setup the connect2 account, login and you'll see the photo you just sent. Select it and click the flickr button. A pop-up window will appear and ask you for permission to link to your flickr account.
If you don't have a flickr account - I think you will be prompted to create one. After you've created the flickr account, login to the flickr account in a separate explorer window or firefox tab. Then go back to the connect2 website (in the previous window/tab) and click the flickr button again.
A popup window will ask you for permission to link your connect2 account to flickr. After you authorize it, your camera is now registered with your flickr account.
6. Now, from the camera, take a photo. Upload the photo to the email address "flickr" and it will automatically go to the connect2 website and be transfered to flickr.
Not so hard, right? Yeah right.
Actually, my hang up was that I didn't realize that i had typed in my senders email incorrectly so I never got the further instruction for registering the connect2 website. Nothing in the manual or supplemental manuals (there are 3 total) explained that the last bit of instructions would come via email. Not even the Nikon technical support website or FAQ's explained that there was a huge chunk of instructions missing - pending the receipt of the email notifications...
Anyway, I hope I saved someone some grief. Enjoy your new camera!

Things I like:
- WiFi feature is pretty cool. Not exactly sure how much I'll use it but it's nice to be able to share pictures and have online backup on an extended trip, provided you can find a compatible hotspot.
- Picture quality is good. I've been a Canon user for years and I think the Canon Digic processor produces better pictures, but the Nikon is very good.
- Fast start up time
- Decent battery life, even with WiFi (plus some smart power features like wifi upload when you plug it in)
- Nice, large LCD viewfinder
- Good, intuitive UI
- Smile mode works well
Things I don't like:
- The shutterspeed seems slow, especially in red-eye mode. I find a lot of pics in redeye mode have the people with eyes closed. My Canons never did this.
- All the scene modes are a bit bewildering... I think it will take some time to figure out which modes work best in which situations.
- Proprietary connector for PC, looks like mini-USB, but isn't
