I don't use the piece that attaches to the tripod collar with adhesive -- just don't want to have to clean the adhesive off at some future time. The rest of the cover pieces just slip into place and stay put very well.

(More customer reviews)I'm unsure if the camouflage makes any difference to the wildlife. I'm discovering birds and most wildlife are indifferent to me as long as I'm non-threatening and approach slowly and indirectly. So, you could save a little money and get the standard black version.
It really does help protect your equipment and I wouldn't go outdoors with this lens without it on. It's also acts as an insulator in the winter making the lens not so shockingly cold to carry.
