I put this on my 13-year-old daughter's rifle for her first deer hunt and it worked perfectly. We were in Texas winter weather where the days started out as low as 22 degrees, but would get as high as 55. We also had both snow and rain - it was the perfect weather to fog up an inferior scope, especially after looking at how it was handled by a youth loading in and out of the back of a truck. (I also remember my first hunt as a youth where the scope actually fell off the gun:), and I didn't want a repeat).
This Leopold VX-II handled everything perfectly. The sight picture stayed crystal clear the whole time and was ready for use when needed. I couldn't be happier, and neither could my daughter.
As far as sighting-in goes. I love the click adjustment, which is the reason I chose this scope over the VX-I. It was extremely easy to get on target and I'm confident that it will stay there. It was mounted on a Weatherby youth rifle.
I highly recommend this scope if you want a quality piece of equipment that won't break the bank.

I purchased these rubber lens covers for a pair of Fujinon Techno-Stabi - Binoculars 12 x 32 - image stabilized binoculars. The lens covers themselves are flexible enough to fit nicely over the objective lens and provide great protection for them... but the barrels of the objective lenses are too short to accommodate both the covers and tether rings. Therefore, for my particular binoculars, I plan to cut off the tethers and rings and just use the covers themselves to protect my binocs.
September 6 update: I tried putting these lens covers on a pair of Canon 10x30 Image Stabilization Binoculars w/Case, Neck Strap & Batteries binoculars, and they fit that model also. Again, the barrels of the objective lenses are short, so you'll need to cut off the tether ring. But the rubber caps fit nice and snug, so I don't see a problem with them falling off easily.

Amazingly compact and simple to use, this Bushnell Scout 1000 rangefinder features Bushnell's exclusive Angle Range Compensation (ARC) technology, which accounts for terrain angle to give you an accurate "shoots-like" distance--all with the tap of a button. A Bow mode provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards, while the Rifle mode provides bullet-drop/holdover data in inches from 100 to 800 yards. This weather-resistant rangefinder features a Realtree camouflage body, built-in inclinometer, fully multi-coated optics, and built-in tripod mount.
Targeting Modes
Bow: Provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards based on angle.
Rifle Mode: Select the ballistic group of your firearm (guidelines supplied). When you range your target, an inclinometer displays the angle and provides bullet-drop/holdover in inches (up to 99") from 100 to 600 yards.
SCAN: Allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan.
BullsEye: Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display.
Brush: Ignores the foreground, such as brush, boulders and tree branches, and provides distances on the LCD display to background objects only.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.
