Bought this scope when I purchased a Browning .300 MinMag. Boresighted easily and was able to zero with only three rounds. Sight picture is very clear and wide enough to make targeting a dream. Easy to focus using safty glasses or prescription. Highly recommend.

Its my first good quality scope and you can feel the difference compared to the other two I own. I got it for a fair enough price and the shipping was fast. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Equipped with a patented BDC reticle that allows hunters to hold "dead on" at long ranges, the Monarch 2.5-10x42 riflescope sets the standard for mid-sized scope performance. The scope offers such features as a rugged one-piece, 1-inch main body tube; a creative Eyebox design with a huge ocular that provides a 4x magnification range and 4 inches of constant eye relief without sacrificing the field of view; an ultra ClearCoat system for 95 percent light transmission; and fully multicoated, super-high-performance lenses. After the lenses are cut and polished, Nikon coats them with multiple layers of anti-reflective compounds. The compounds serve to boost light transmission, improve contrast (to pull game out of its surroundings), deliver true color rendition and flare-free viewing, and enhance the overall image quality. The BDC reticle, meanwhile, is perhaps the most compelling feature, as its trajectory-compensating system is designed and calibrated to provide fast, simple aiming points for various shot distances. The unique system integrates a series of small "ballistic circles" to produce an unobstructed view of the target.
In addition, the riflescope is prepared for years of reliable service thanks to its 100-percent waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof housing. The scope is O-ring sealed, oxygen purged, and nitrogen filled to prevent fogging, while the waterproof performance is guaranteed, even with the windage and elevation caps off. Other details include a quick focus eyepiece; enhanced ring spacing that allows you to mount the scope on virtually any rifle; a unique zoom control with rearward facing numbers; hand reticle adjustments with Nikon's interchangeable turret technology; and sunshade adaptability.

2010 April(ish) - This was the second product purchased as "new" inside a month which was obviously handled although do not think it was mounted. It had surface dust on the scope and the box was worn as if it was a demo. But all that was not the primary issue ... the eye lens had a 1-2mm diameter piece of coating missing near at the center of the eye optic and there was dust inside the scope seen through the eye ocular. Although the scope was very disappointing (returned) I found Amazon to be awesome by paying for return shipping with a fast refund. So I do not hold Amazon accountable for this ... I do hold the company that supplied Amazon with this products unacceptable condition.
2010 October 27 - Update. So I waited several months and concluded that the best price is still from Amazon. In spite of my previous experience I decided to give it a third try and ordered this scope again. It would seem three times a charm ... the scope was new and immaculate. I have mounted it, bore scoped and range sited this past weekend. I love this scope. I have had several eye surgery's and although I am 20-20 I lack contrast and it is worse under low light conditions ... this scope has what I need to have the brightest and sharpest image. I am revising my rating from 2 to a 5. Thanks Amazon for resolving the previous issues with the previous product supplier(s).
