(More customer reviews)These are very nice binoculars, extremely sharp and bright for the money. My decision was helped by the recommendation of a Cornell University study that identified the 8X42 Binoculars as a "best in class" for this price range. While I had previously had 10X binoculars, the Monarch 10X42 got less than stellar reviews. Also, my previous binoculars (Nikon Travelite) twice had to be repaired, once for getting water in them and second when the prism got out of alignment, I was tired of the false economy of buying things that do not last. The Monarchs are waterproof, warrantied for 25 years, and the optical quality is great. I wear eyeglasses, and they amazed me how (for the first time) I can use my binoculars with my glasses on with complete ease. Very nice product - highly recommended.
