(More customer reviews)I was supposed to buy the old Mk.1 version (from the Philippines) and have it firmware updated by the authorized distributor but I saw this product already available. I bought this instead because there is no need to do a firmware update for RF trigging. First thing i noticed is that it is bigger and more powerful than my SB-600. Controls were simple to understand and modify since there is no LCD screen. It is a plug-and-play flash unit. I haven't tried the optical flash or the TTL optical flash mode but CLS slave mode works perfectly. Just remember to set your master to CH 1 GRP A. Ebay RF triggers works too. I've used the YongNuo hotshoe trigger and it works well with the flash. The down side is power zoom head will not work unless the flash is on 0 degrees down and zero degrees forward. there is also no way to change zoom settings on the head. When the power zoom head is active, the noise from the motor is very loud. Way louder that the SB-600. This unit has now become my primary flash unit relegating the SB-600 as back-up/secondary flash.
