(More customer reviews)I ordered this set of filters just before my vaction were I visited a few aquariums and such as well as just visiting family.
The quality is just GREAT. I did have to clean the lenses when I opened them as there was some factory film/protection oil on them. After cleaning them wow, picture quality was vastly improved.
I have the Canon S3 IS with the lens adapter to 58mm and This set was a perfect buy for me.
These filter easily attach to one another as well (incase you weren't sure of this).
The UV filter I keep on the lens adapter to protect the lense itself and it doesn't degrade indoor pictures at all!
Circular Polarized filter: The best feature is that it has a slightly wider ring so that it's easily seperated from the UV filter, You can also rotate the CPL filter while it's screwed on. It has an independant rotation from it's mounting base. Not entire sure as to why this is as it is a Circular PL filter but I'm sure there is a reason (I'm still learning as I'm sure the Vets are more than aware of).
Conclusion: Great filter set and I would recomment to anyone that is looking. I'll post some pictures once I get the time taken with each of the filters. I'll go out and do a rotation set (unfilter, uv, uv+cpl, pl) so that you can get a better idea as to how much the images are enhanced with these filters.

(More customer reviews)This is a great filter for taking outdoor photographs. You really need a Circular Polarizing Filter (CPL) for outdoors, but CPL's tend to cool down the colors. This filter is a CPL made from 81A glass so it's like having a CPL and a warmer in one filter. The 81A glass compensates for the cooling of the polarizer.

Collaboration between respected wildlife photographer and conservationist B. Moose Peterson of Wildlife Research Photography and THK Photo Products, Inc., has created a circular polarizing filter that uses 81A optical glass made by Hoya, the worlds largest optical glass manufacturer, instead of the clear optical glass of a normal circular polarizer. When using a camera with a split beam metering system (a metering system that employs a polarized half mirror) which is most of today's auto focus camera bodies, traditional linear polarizers will cause exposure errors do to their light absorption properties. Circular polarizers yield the same optical effect while not causing exposure problems with modern metering systems. For many years, polarizers have been used to remove reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass as well as being used to darken blue skies to increase contrast in scenic photography. A side effect of both linear and circular polarizes is they "cool down" or make the over-all color balance of a scene slightly bluish. The addition of the 81A glass corrects the color temperature, bringing the scene back to the original 5500K for daylight film's color balance. The 81A glass creates a much more pleasing and "warm" color balance to the entire scene while the circular polarizer increases color contrast and reduces the effect of atmospheric haze.

(More customer reviews)There are a number of things you can do to modify a digital image using digital image editing programs. Lots of special effects may easily be added after the image has been made. But polarizing filters are almost magical. You see, they cut reflections and glare, and provide images with more rich colors, and for everything except metal, reduced glare and reflection. These are things that can be difficult or impossible to do, no matter how good you are with a digital image editing program.
Yes, the filter is costly. Magic never comes cheaply. In fact, the filter is made to rotate once installed so there are extra moving parts not found on most filters. Then there is the high-quality coating that helps with flare caused by the filter. There's a cost for this too. But when all is said and done, it's worth every last penny of the cost for the results you can get.
The circular polarizer is necessary for single-lens-reflex (SLR) cameras that use auto-focus and metering systems because many of these cameras' systems would be adversely affected by linear polarizing filters. So if you have a recent, auto-focus, through-the-lens metering camera, you probably should be using a circular polarizing filter - check your camera manual if you are not sure.
This in my experience is the most useful filter available and worth every penny. Unlike the Skylight or UV filters sold because "you need to protect your lens" or "cut UV-haze". Just remember that todays modern lenses have very hard glass, hard lens coatings, and that UV rays do no pass through glass. Unlike the polarizing filter, the Skylight and UV filters are a waste of your money unless you are truly shooting in a very hostile environment. Save the money you would have spent on these profit makers for the camera store and buy a filter that will actually make an immediate difference in your photography!

The pictures I took with this filter came out wonderful. Amazing results on clouds, sky, water. It is true, the fish under water that you barely see will come out perfectly clear on your pictures.
Price is very good. If you have never tried a polarizing filter, like me, an small investment will show how good this filter is.
The filter is very slim and it doesn't affect the picture border with wide angle lens. I was using an 18-200mm lens.
The BAD:
The only disadvantage I found is that sometimes is very difficult to take the filter out. Because the filter is very slim, and the inner ring is not grooved, your fingers just slide over.
I tried not to tight the filter, but a couple of times it dropped on my hand while rotating the outer ring.
I was tempted to apply a couple of drops of epoxy on the border of the inner ring but at the end I bought a more expensive model, same brand, but with grooved inner ring. I wish someone has told me about the importance of the groove on the inner ring.

(More customer reviews)This Circular Polarizer is very nice and heavy and very clean out of the package. The only thing that I'm worried about is that there is a tiny ring inside just around the glass itself that is cracked and kind of warped, but still inside it's track. I have researched photos to see if this is broken but a few pictures of the item for sale new seem to show the same crack in the ring - fingers crossed.
Also, I bought it along with the Amazon recommended HMC UV(0) filter and I have to agree that when you put them both together they are very hard to get apart. It's great quality though very heavy, clean and nicely milled around its edge.

(More customer reviews)This is a proper polarizing filter. It has a marking line on the forward (rotating) half of the filter, so you can keep track of the angle. Rotating the forward half is what changes the shadows reflecting off of the subject. It is also a true circular polarizing filter (I verified this myself). This is necessary for use with the autofocus systems of SLRs and Bayer filters over the sensors of DSLRs.

(More customer reviews)I was hesitant at first, but I figure for under $8 and with fulfillment by Amazon I could take a risk. Plus, I was using a gift card that was about to expire to pay for everything anyway. The upshot is that for less than $8, the Zeikos CPL does a good enough job of cutting glare and reflections, while also giving me some optical control over color saturation. Is it a perfect CPL? No, of course not. Does it reduce image sharpness? Well, what do you think, it cost less than eight bucks--but surprisingly that reduction is fairly negligible.
While it's not a perfect CPL, I'm perfectly happy with what I got--a very usable circular polarizing filter. And while it might reduce sharpness a little, it does not do so intrusively and the loss is far shy of what I'd expect from such a low priced filter. I'd happily use this filter for snapshots of landscapes, beach scenes, wildlife, and other types of general or vacation type uses. If you need to print something that looks professionally done, then you'll have to weigh the gain in color and reflection control over the very minor loss in sharpness. If you're not a pixel peeper, you probably won't even notice any loss of sharpness.
Bottom line: If you're not a professional shooter and are looking into trying out the fun filled world of filters, you could do far worse than investing in a Zeikos CPL.

(More customer reviews)This is the perfect starter filter set for the D40 owner (or any brand having 52mm specs). The UV is indispensible protection for your camera's base lense. The Polarizing lense gives you clear, reflection-free shots through windows (e.g., historical sites, museum cases), and the Florescent is a nice complement to those environments with harsh, overhead lighting (when I remember to use it). This set is a great overall value compared with picking these up individually. The case is small, cushioned, and very practical.
