Lomography Diana F+ 55mm Lens and Close-up Lens Review

This is a fantastic lens kit for the diana. The wide angle gives much more breathing room than the stock lens. The close up lens is SHARP! (for being plastic). and the add on view finder is fun. This is currently my always on lens for the diana, I have stopped using the stock one. If you're looking to add more functionality to your diana, this is a great set.

I just wanted to verify that the lenses will snap snugly into the adapter if you twist it, like the other reviewer stated. I found that the hole in the adapter is smaller than the rear element of the 20mm fisheye lens, and that's pretty much wasting at least 1 stop of light for no reason, so I drilled it out to make it the same size as the rear element. It gives you a little more blurriness too. I've never used the other lenses, but if the rear element on those is even larger than the fisheye, which would make sense, I don't see a reason not to drill out the whole center of the adapter, as long as you still have those tabs for locking the lens on. These are my advices. Do what you will.

I bought this to use with my Nikon D40. I have to say I wasn't expecting a lot. It's a plastic lens, and some of the joy of plastic lenses comes from things like light leaks on cheap cameras.
But I'm really enjoying it! I have to manually meter, and things aren't sharp, but the metering's simple on a DSLR (just keep adjusting the shutter speed and taking photos until the histogram is correct), and the lack of sharpness is exactly what makes this lens dreamy. Obviously, shooting with a digital camera, I don't have to worry about the cost of developing film, like the previous reviewer.
I was actually looking forward to playing with these photos in Photoshop, but I was surprised to discover they needed minimal post processing.
One nice thing about the lens is that it is super light. Some might complain about that, but I love that I barely feel my camera around my neck with this lens. It means I'll keep my camera with me even more than usual and get more photos.
Amazon's photo policies make me uncomfortable. If you are interested in seeing sample photos with this lens, I have a set on flickr: [...]
