(More customer reviews)I really like this lens hood, it collapses down and fits easily in my backpacks. I dont even carry most of my large & rigid lens hoods anymore as this works on most of my lenses. I bought this primarily for shooting in aquariums and through glass to keep reflections down to a minimum which this hood is perfect for. I also like that it screws in like a filter so it works on all my 77mm lenses. I have 5 Canon lenses that all have different lens hoods and they dont fit on the other 77mm lenses (like my 70-200mm lens hood will not fit on my 100-400 or my 24-70, etc..) I did notice that I could see the hood when I was shooting at 24mm on my full frame 5D Mk II but once I zoomed out to 30mm, it was out of the frame. I just folded the rubber back when shooting at 24mm and that alleviated this problem.
This lens hood is simple, practical and works great.

Opteka rubber lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
