Even though, I use the Nikon CLS to trigger my speedlights, I have some flash units that are not CLS compatible and I wanted to use them. I gave a try to these remote triggers, without expecting too much from them. But I was surprise by the reliability and easiness of use. These have hot shoes you use to trigger your flash unit but also they offer the synch cable option if your flash is not supported by the hot shoe. The construction quality is not impressive, so you have be a little careful when adjusting the knobs to not break the plastic case; specially on the transmitter one. I have not tested them with long distances, only between 3 to 5 meters and no issues at all. There is no TTL capability on these transmitters; you have to invest a lot more if you want a transmitter with TTL capability. The triggering is very consistent and I have only experience a couple of misfires but I guess it was my fault by not securely attaching the trigger device on the camera hot shoe.
