(More customer reviews)I bought this adaptor after picking up an old Vivitar 450/SLD with a Rokunar 28mm f/2.8 lens, and I wanted to try the lens on my 30D. After much research, I found out that the adaptors without an aperture stop down rim are the ones to buy because the rim can cause problems with some lenses and can be a real bother if you want to focus with an open aperture. This adaptor is such a device, and is built great as well, being made of a nice heavy brass. I've since picked up some more M42 lenses, such as a few Pentax Takumars, and they are some of the sharpest lenses I have now. You can get a nice set of fast, sharp primes for much less than buying the current Canon or third party lenses. Other mount adaptors are also available if you check around, I have a Pentax K, and might pick up an Olympus. It really opens up a new world of razor sharp awesomeness.
