(More customer reviews)I am using this item to take pictures using my Nikon D80 and a tripod. This "wired" remote is soooo much easier than using the Nikon wireless remote (which I also own), because it is always "on" as long as it is plugged into the camera. The wireless remote must be re-activated every time you turn the blasted camera back on, which is a pain in the hindquarters. If you are looking for a way to trip your shutter without jiggling the tripod, this is the ticket. Another advantage over the wireless is that for long time exposures while on the "bulb" shutter setting, you can lock the shutter into place without holding down the button manually - something you can't do using the wireless. This also of course has the auto-focus half pressed capability just as any other shutter would have on an autofocus camera. I'm extremely pleased.
