(More customer reviews)Think Tank Photo Urban Disguise is a premium camera bag designed especially for photojournalist or street photographer in mind. The camera bag is designed so that you can maneuver around the city or events without attracting too much attention and the same time provide you a durable, comfortable and highly versatile bag.
Urban Disguise has various models, one model that I own is Urban Disguise 35. The bag has vertical orientation. It can fit pro model with 70-200mm f/2.8 attached. It can also fit either small laptop 10" (with pro model/grip) or 13.3" inch (regular model).
Compare to the 30 model, the advantage of this 35 model is it can fit small notebook, it also can fit the pro model / regular model with grip attached. Because of that the 35 model is more bulky and thicker.
In front flap, you can put another body either regular or pro model. There are a place to put pens, small notebooks and other small accessories. There are stretchable pockets on both side of the camera bag. You can put an external flash, small water bottle or a small umbrella.
Inside the main compartment, you can put your camera with telephoto lens attached with hood reversed. You can also put 2-3 lenses in stack.
On the back of the bag, there is a place to put your business card and also you can put some documents or paper in it.
The shoulder pad is also very comfortable, it is very well made and does not hurt in a moderate long time usage. You can get an optional shoulder harness around $25-30 for extra comfy. But you will lose the accessibility a little bit.
When the weather turns bad, you can cover the bag with weather protection sheet which is provided inside the camera bag.
When you are traveling with a luggage you can stick this bag into it.
In the nutshell, this camera bag can fit:
1. A pro model or regular model with battery grip with 70-200mm f/2.8 lens attached
2. Two regular zoom lenses or 3-4 wide angle prime lenses
3. An external flash
4. Small laptop either 10" or 13.5"
5. Small umbrella or water bottle
6. Writing tools and small notebook
7. A back-up camera body
In conclusion
Urban Disguise 35 is a remarkable camera bag that can store most of the equipments of photojournalists or photographer that desire a compact low profile bag but can store a lot of gears. The build quality and design are great and very functional.
Unlike other camera shoulder bag that might be uncomfortable after a long usage, I didn't feel uncomfortable due to the quality and design of the shoulder pad.
Comparing to backpack model, this bag has an advantage on the accessibility to your gear .Wherever and whenever you like you can just open it and draw your camera. In backpack camera you need to put down the camera bag everytime you want to get out the camera gears or to store it.
However, this camera comes with a high price tag. $150 is quite expensive for many beginner and enthusiasts. This model is also a little bit bulky but it is understandable because it can store pro model gears and laptop.
So who is this kind of camera bag for?
This camera bag design for photographer that always on the go, like street or wedding photography. The shoulder bag design allow the photographer to get access to the camera gears or changing lens easier than the backpack mode.
