It's a little on the short side as far as lens hoods go, but it does what it's made for, reducing glare and light ghosting, while also adding aditional protection to the lens it self. I should mention that it clips on rather than twisting on, which is convenient if you're in a hurry. It's reasonably priced and gets the job done; I would recomend this, if you're on a budget, and it just needs to work.

Take better pictures with a lens hood! It extends beyond the edge of your lens, shading it and reducing interference from light coming at odd angles. A lens hood can also serve as some protection for your valuable lens, since it extends beyond the surface of the lens, shielding it from debris, moisture, bumps, and even fingerprints!
