(More customer reviews)I bought this lens for my Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, and it fits it beautifully with the hood reversed. It also can fit my Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens with its hood on (not reversed).
It doesn't aim to do a lot, but it does offer protection from dust and moisture (not a monsoon), mild shocks, and it can attach to belts, other Lowepro bags and cases.
