We shoot outdoors and always use a UV, polarizer, or both on all of our lenses. I bought these for one of my Canon lenses and have since bought them for all of my other lenses. The clarity is superior to previous filters we have used, even other Hoya filters. The pictures come out sharp and clean with no filter related flaws or flares... great product!
Update: after some more use I have found only one minor flaw and that is that my Canon lens cap doesn't fit quite right on this filter. It still stays on, though. :D

Kit includes: 1) Hoya 67mm PRO1 Digital UV Filter; 2) Hoya 67mm PRO1 Digital Circular PL Polarizer Filter; >>> Both filters include: Hoya USA Warranty. >>> The Hoya Pro 1 Digital Series Ultraviolet UV Filter is a multi-purpose, fine-weather filter that is designed to optimize the photography experience of the digital SLR user. UV filters, which absorb ultraviolet rays that often make outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct, should be constantly fitted to a lens to provide improved clarity and color balance, as well as to provide protection to your lens. >>> The Hoya Pro 1 Digital Series Circular Polarizing (PL) Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and they also improve color saturation, clarity and contrast. This threaded filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, for example. Hoya's polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot, and they will provide protection for your lens while shooting. A polarizer is different than most filters in that it is composed of two pieces of glass, mounted independently inside a round frame so that one can be rotated relative to the other. As it is rotated, it increasingly cuts out glare and haze. With an SLR, you can actually observe this change through the viewfinder. Polarizers reduce glare from water, glass, or any non-metallic surface. You can also use a polarizer filter to darken blue skies. Polarizers come in two versions, linear and circular, and autofocus cameras will perform best with a circular polarizer. >>> Hoya Pro1 filters are optimized for use with digital SLR cameras, but they are also perfect for traditional 35mm SLR applications, including black and white photography.
