(More customer reviews)I got this set as a birthday gift and haven't had much opportunity to play with it yet. I've already got the UV lens on my Rebel T1I, but this lens had several pinkish streaks on it when I opened it up. Good thing this set came with a cleaning kit as I had to clean it up with the lens pen before I could use it. The other filters look fine, though I haven't used them yet. This is a good deal of products for the price and I would recommend this set to amateur photographers like me who are just getting started.

The Hoya HMC UV Filter is a multi-purpose filter that is designed to optimize digital cameras, to greatly reduce lens flare and ghosting caused by reflections. UV filters, absorb ultraviolet rays that make outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct, and should be constantly fitted to a lens to provide improved clarity and color balance, and protection for your lens.
The Hoya Circular Polarizing (PL) Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and they also improve color saturation, clarity and contrast. This threaded filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, for example.
This Hoya Neutral Density (ND) Filter reduces the amount of visible light that enters the lens, allowing the user to utilize wider apertures or slower shutter speeds, particularly in bright conditions. ND filters work especially well for portraits by allowing the photographer to reduce the depth of field, producing pleasant background blur while keeping the subject in sharp focus. An ND8 filter reduces the amount of light by 3 stops.
