(More customer reviews)When I purchased my A100, I wasn't too impressed with the Sony lenses that were offered, and I wasn't about to spend the cash on a Carl Zeiss. I had heard great things about the Tamron line, and the 17-50mm range fit well into what I consider a walk-around lens. The 2.8 max aperture is excellent, especially when paired with the camera-housed image stabilization in the Sony Alpha. I've shot hand-held in some really low light situations, with great results. I can't recommend this lens enough. If you decide to purchase an Alpha, go body-only and get this lens, you won't be sorry.
